Gotta love the military waiting game.

hello! I also posted this on the random questions thread but thought I'd give this a shot too :)

Extremely new to the forum but I'm in desperate need for someone to help.

I have an 8 cm mass in my right breast.

Had an ultrasound where the tech told me she didn't see lesions but wants me to have a mammogram just in case.

Mammogram came back benign but they found a mass behind it on my chest. So I was referred off to get a breast mri.

Here's where it gets weird. After over a week I finally called my doctors office. I'm in the military so the sergeant at the front desk told me it hadn't come in yet. After speaking to my higher ups, the command of said doctors office ( the boss ), an hour after I talked to the sergeant, said everything came back negative. Not a cyst. Good to go. But this was only referring to the mass in my right breast. I apologize for the lack of terminology but these are the words he used

I'm supposed to get a call to get what ever this is removed but he never told me what it actually was nor did I get answers to whatever is on my chest.

If this is normal by all means tell me to drink some wine and smile. I'm just so stuck with this notion that something isn't right and I still have no answers.

Hi again Lowilliams1, I replied to you on the random questions thread I started. I am 100% with you now. My next step would be to call the doctor who did the breast MRI which you were referred to and get the answers from them. It could be benign but I would want the answers. I am assuming that the mass is on your "chest wall". Please keep us posted and make that call today! Don't wait for them to call you any longer.

    I hope this helps.

    KTF

thank you so much KTF! I'm calling them as I type!

    Lo

ETA: I called and I'm going to pick everything up tomorrow. I also left a message specifically for my provider to go over everything.

If there's any advice or specific questions to ask when it comes to a breast MRI or things that should be elaborated on please feel free to let me know! Although cancer is prevalent in my family, no one will actually talk about this nitty gritty.

Your wait was nothing....I waited 6 months before I got the Ok for an MRI! Mammograms and US always show cysts, so no one was worried, but me! Thanks God they finally did it. Now 8 yrs later, another MRI found cancer on other side....

oh my gosh yea that's an insane wait! I'm so sorry about the diagnosis.

The wait isn't what's bothering me but the lack of diagnosis is. My leadership is pushing for the timeline since I have training late this month.
