Mets
Hello..I had ILC and a bmx in August 2014. The period following was a little rough bc of multiple surgeries but uneventful. Recently, I went to my spine dr bc I was having severe pain from the left side of my neck all the way down my left arm. He ordered a cervical mri and discovered two herniated discs that are pinching a bunch of nerves. The next morning he called me at work with a critical result he received later that night that found a nodule on my left thyroid. So my pcp sent me for an U/S which showed a 19 mm nodule on my left thyroid and a 6 mm nodule on my right thyroid. Both nodules showed internal flow and tons of microcalcifications. So of course now I'm scheduled for a biopsy on October 12th. I am scared...kinda bringing me back to the emotional hell I went thru two years ago.
My question is...has anyone heard of ILC spreading to the thyroid..even tho I had negative nodes on bmx biopsy ??

I feel sorry for u dear .I haven't heard ILC spreading to thyroid glands may be it's a benign nodule .I pray for u lots of hugs .

Nope, never heard of that before. Thyroid mets are extremely rare. I'm thinking it's probably something else but once you've had BC, *anything* that shows up on a scan we obsess about. Praying that you don't take this too seriously. Wait for the biopsy -- something tells me this is a false alarm.

I know that it is very difficult to not be concerned at every incidental finding in a scan but thyroid nodules are very common
Three years ago I had one found during my work up scans following my bc dx
It was 2 cm's so I had it biopsied. The biopsy came back clear but I guess due to how it looked, they needed to keep watching it. That and also my thyroid levels were normal at the time.
After 3 more ultrasounds and blood tests, my thyroid levels came back as hyperthyroid and continued to worsen over 8 months.
I was sent to a endocrinologist and it was decided that I would go for a iodine scan. After that it was determined that I had a Hot Nodule that was expressing way too much thyroid hormone. The problem with that is that it can cause a calcium depletion and as I take letrozole , which does the same , the nodule had to go!
Last Friday I went to the hospital and took a radioactive iodine treatment pill. I did have to take precautions at home to not interact with my family for the weekend too much but I returned to work on Monday. There were no side effects
I have heard ILC can spread to places IDC doesn't spread to but Iike I said , thyroid issues are very common. Also that was one of the first questions I asked my specialist and without her even knowing the stats of my breast cancer , she advised that it would be a very rare thing for it to spread to the thyroid . She had never even heard of it!!
Anyway , good luck and I am sure this will turn out just fine !!

Thanks for the advice ladies
The US showed internal flow and micro calcifications and the nodule on my right thyroid has irregular borders, Ive always had a hyperactive thyroid...THIS IS WHAT SCARES ME. I have never heard of ILC going to the thyroid either, it was just a thought. Hoping its benign..but cant help but think its a new primary tumor. So stressful..I thought I was past all this crap

Mine had irregular borders too and it was benign.
Hugs and good luck
