Did anyone else have palpable underarm lymph nodes before they were diagnosed

I did. This is what made me go to the doctor as I thought the muscles under one arm looked bigger than the muscles under the other arm. It turned out to be enlarged lymph nodes. Very small multiple cancers in the breast and all lymph nodes under the arm were cancerous

I'm doing just fine. In the trenches of chemo land at the moment. Not the worst thing I've been through. Barely a blip in comparison to my first pregnancy and my husbands cancer and death. The what ifs can be pretty bad if you let your mind go there. There's lots of reasons for enlarged lymph nodes. Get it checked out but I choose not to panic until I'm told there's something to worry about. You drive yourself crazy otherwise

Thanks inks - I'm just so worried that since mine are palpable, that it has spread, if it is in fact BC.

One of my left side lymph nodes was palpable. The node was biopsied at the same time as the breast. Node was okay. Breast was diagnosed as DCIS but was found after surgery to include invasive ductal carcinoma, very small. I didn't have a sentinel node procedure because we thought it was DCIS. I received radiation to the left breast and the left nodes, which the Radiation Oncologist thought would be enough if there was any tiny bit of invasive cancer in the nodes. I hope he is right!

Yes, I could feel the node under my arm. It ended up being a 1.7 cm tumor.

Unless you know you have BC you should not be worrying about lymph nodes. I had both. 3 years later, I'm fine. So try to rest easy till information comes.

If you would post in your Profile what your DX (diagnosis) is , it would be easier for ones to give pertinent replies.
