edited October 2016 in Waiting for Test Results

okay ladies I am sorry if what I am about to write is hard to follow or understand... I suck at write and trying to get my words out the proper way. But I do hope you get the gist as I would really like to know what you all think... Okay here goes

Went to my primary dr sept. 1st to show her the lump I found in my right breast.... She examined it and orders a breast u/s and x-Ray. For the next day.

Breast u/s sept. 2nd

Ultrasound technician did first u/s... Went to show the dr the results of what she found. Dr said to do a mammogram. We did the mammogram and tech when to see what the dr though of the results she decided to come in and do a u/s herself from there they decided she wanted to have the tech move me to the newer u/s Machine and do the u/s there to get a better view. Tech left to go over her findings dr wanted to come in a do the u/s again. There she found many swollen Axillary lymph nodes. I also have a swollen a mammary lymph node. All leave the room saying they might want to do a mri.. Come back say no need to do a mri. Best to do a biopsy to confirm suspicions or possibly rule it out. I then also had a chest x-Ray before leaving.

I had my biopsy on mon. 9/19/2016 I had a biopsy of my auxiliary lymph nodes. I was told by the nurse I would get the results the next day since I was having it done before noon but the dr told me I would get them in 1 or 2 days. And 7 days later still waiting... My biopsy experience was like this at the biopsy the dr said we will only take one sample this will be easy in and out... As he's did the first sample he said well we sometimes take 2 or 3 samples depending on how they first one comes out so I'm going to take another sample... 1 hr later and 5 samples I was finally done.

My Drs office called me yesterday 9/23/16 to schedule an appointment to go over the results. I had a appointment on Monday already but they pushed it back to Thursday. The reasoning is that the hospital where I had the biopsy done wanted to send the pathology report down to Santa Barbara cottage hospital to confirm the diagnosis... So you can imagine my freaking mind is going like crazy.

Thanks for any advice or information in advan

So sorry that they are making you to wait so long for your biopsy results. They took several biopsy samples because you had many areas of concern and they wanted to make sure the got some of those areas in their sample. I had 3 core samples. The enlarged lymph nodes are certainly a concern but you should wait for the biopsy results first. My enlarged node ended up having only micromets and an infection could also cause enlarged nodes. Waiting is the worst and I wish they would have told you at least the preliminary results rather than keep you waiting. If they use electronic medical records then you might be able to access your local biopsy results, they are your results and you have the right to know. Try to hang on until Thursday.

Hello, I totally understand I'm waiting too not as long as you have and it is very nerve racking. I had my biopsy last Friday 9/23 on right breast; they took samples from 2 sites. I had an MRI 2 weeks prior and my MO ordered the biopsy as they saw 2 enhancements and several other scattered suspicions. My breast surgeon didn't think the enhancements were anything to worry about and didn't think the MRI was necessary. Well I'm glad I had the biopsy to put my mind at ease. I'm 3 years out from IDC in left breast had chemo and radiation. Oh the thought of going through that again makes me sick to my stomach.

Guess we have to hang in there and pray for the best results.

Hi All, got my results today. Great news both enhancements are benign lesions...yay! My MO said they were sclerosis capillary lesions / atypical. She is recommending an wire needle localization / excisional biopsy. The MO, surgeon and pathologist all spoke and suggested the lesions be removed. However, there is some resistance by the surgeon as she commented 'but they are benign'. I have an appointment with the surgeon this coming Tuesday to discuss the pros and cons. But I want those jokers out ASAP. Only thing I'm not sure of is if this procedure is really the same as a lumpectomy and a little concerned about scarring as one is at 2 o'clock and the other is at 6 o'clock. Also, they will do another pathology report once they are removed as they will be removing extra tissue within a couple of millimeters of each lesion.

I sure hope everyone else has something good to report.

I'm so happy...this weekend I will be celebrating my wedding anniversary and now it will be two fold.

nope no results yet!! The day before my appointment my Drs office called me and said my dr wouldn't be in the office the next day so we need to reschedule my appt. And her next available appointment was oct. 17th!! I cried and said you know how horrible the last week has been and now I have to wait 3 more weeks! I told them it's not fair and asked if I could just get my results now so I don't have to worry. Nope they said no...

But I'm assuming if they have me waiting this long everything will be okay. Iv read many of your ladies stories and things seem to happen super fast.. So in my mind long wait means all is okay.

I think you are right, it must be something benign, But it must be agonizing to wait 3 more weeks.

ToPete, I agree! I would be awfully angry if they made you wait until 10/11 when you underwent first testing on 9/2. That is a VERY long haul. You have 8 days left. That is a long haul too. I too will agree with inks - it has to be a benign result.

I'll be watching for your update.
