I am a planner and I would love to know what options are there for BMX women who have TE in place. I mainly want to know because I will be very self conscious outside of my home especially at work. I do not want to go back to work with a flat chest as the TE process takes place. I will be so self conscious during this time and I want to plan ahead what I will need during this process to stuff my sports bra with. I want to keep private about this and not discuss it with co-workers. It is not a matter of what people will think its a self esteem issue that I know I will probably need to address. So please suggestions. I am going to surgery October 20th, 2016.

I went to the fabric store and bought c/d falsies and a friend crocheted some as well. I also added some drapey tops to my wardrobe (the draping is optical illusion) and wore fitted structured blazers unbuttoned to camouflage what was going on.

WOW! Thank you ladies!!! It is so overwhelming going through this process and I am trying to think of what issues and concerns I might have as I go through this process. I am a RN so I unfortunately don't have the option of hiding with new clothing as I am confined to the scrubs. Love the knitted knockers!! tehy really look lightweight!!!

I got one for my mom recently. They are so nicely made and adjustable. As you fill 'er up you can just remove stuffing.

If you want ideas on a good drain belt, check out the Marsupial. Www.marsupialpouch.com It's made of terry cloth and was so nice and cozy. All the nurses raved about it. I used the crappy belt I got in the hospital for showering. Don't forget your wedge pillow!

It's hard to get up and down and is more comfortable sleeping a bit elevated after a BMX. I used mine for about 4 weeks and again after exchange. Some sleep in a recliner but I found the wedge better. I got mine on Amazon. I also bought two toddler sized pillows and found no end to their usefulness. Padded the seatbelt on ride home, used under arms, as a "desk" for my phone, etc. I still use them today.

I didn't use a recliner or a wedge - just a lot of extra pillows. I did not wake up flat after BMX with TE and did not really need to supplement my bra, but did experience complications that necessitated removal of one TE, and later removal of one implant after exchange. I used the stuff-able pouch that came with my mastectomy camisole - you can put as much, or as little, stuffing as you need. You can also purchase them independently of the camisole, here at this link.

one of the items I found useful was camisoles with a built in pocket and shelf bra that made it possible to add a poly fill form to them so that you could take away the poly as you expanded. I purchased the cami's from a website called Cure Diva. They were thicker than most cami's and had a thin tank strap made them suitable to wear under other shirts layered or without on warmer days.

I also wore a sports bra I found that had pockets and usedthe same polyfill forms in them as well.

To me the pockets were key because with movement they didn't shift

    Yogadedra,

One thing I forgot to mention was that if you are having nipple sparing, which looks very likely given your diagnosis, you will not wake up flat. I was fully expanded in surgery and never had a fill at the PS. You night want to ask your surgeon about that.

I also never had a cami or surg bra put on after my BMX. I only had glue and Tegaderm over the drains. There seems to be a lot of variation with that as well, so you may want to ask...or not. I went into a lot of it blissfully unaware and did just fine. You will, too.

You could get something like an Ahh bra that has pockets built in. They are pretty cheap and they have hard pads in them , plus you can wear something under the pad or instead of the pad.

    Carla,

Breast surgeon removes it all no nipple sparing. I am not too concerned over that I am leaning toward 3D nipple tattoos anyways.... I love hearing the bra suggestions! I hopped over to the knitted knockers site and I have a set coming! I am a big busted girl and I know I will struggle through being flat in the beginning but my breasts are so busy I have in there lots of fibroids and I just can't live with all that anxiety so removal of both is the best option for me. In the interim I want all the tools available to help me better cope during the initial shock of BMX and then the expander process. I so appreciate this site!

I had fibroids in my non cancer breast too. They were so uncomfortable! I was actually happy to see them go all things considered.
