Just diagnosed with IDC and have some questions

Is there anyone out there who have Essure done and have IDC or any other type of breast cancer? I had Essure put in around 2007 or '08 and I'm concerned that this may effect what my treatment would be. Essure is a permanent birth control where 2 nickle coils are inserted inside and scar tissue forms around them and prevents you from getting pregnant. Now online there are so many sights where women are complaining about this product and have horrible side effects. I have not met my breast surgeon yet. My appointment is not until Sept 27th. I still don't know much about my breast cancer only that it's IDC and moderately differentiated, also from the ultra sound findings they did not see anything in my lymph nodes. I have no idea what my treatment would be or whats on the table regarding surgery but I am wondering if the Essure needs to be taken out. this would mean I need a hysterectomy.

I hope others who may have experience with Essure can chime in, but in the meantime since you mentioned your appointment with your surgeon is coming up this week I wanted to pass this list of questions to ask along: http://www.cancer.net/cancer-types/breast-cancer/q...

It has specific questions to ask the surgeon about their experience as well as treatment options which may help.

If a hysterectomy is something you may be considering there is a site called HysterSisters. There is a big community on there that is very helpful and informative.

My thought would be that Essure is a good thing right now, because it is not a hormonal form of birth control. If your cancer is ER/PR positive if you had been on birth control pills or another form of hormonal birth control you would have had to quit using it.
