my OBOBs This is a group of five women I've known almost my whole life. When we were in our 30s we started regular lunches, etc. Now we are all 67 and like sisters. One of our group lives in FL. When we turned 60 we spent a week at a beach house near her and my DH named us Old Broads on the Beach. One of my friends changed that name to Old Babes on the Beach. Anyway, they are my sisters.

been a great sounding board and support for me. Among other things, we have the same irreverent sense of humor, both love the same books, and like to analyze other people (which sounds better than gossip ). watching birds at the feeder. It's usually the flock of neighborhood sparrows, but yesterday I noticed two woodpeckers - an adult and a juvenile - coming over. They would dart in, grab a sunflower seed, and take it away to eat. (Easier pickings than banging your head against a tree branch, drilling for insects.) The sparrows cling to the feeder, quibble and feast. They're messy eaters so there's a nice patch of sunflowers growing under the feeder.
