HELP! Spider bite and sleeve?

Woke up this morning with two swollen probably spider bites. Both on my affected arm, one which would be covered by sleeve. I wear compression sleeve during day and night sleeve overnight. Don't know what to do. Am scared to go without compression but wondering about making it worse possibly leading to infection by covering the one up. Will email therapist but won't hear back until Monday or Tuesday. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Cori

Cori, it's important to keep it clean, and you can use a topical antibiotic. The sleeve will help with the immediate swelling and also help move lymph fluid, which is how you lower your infection risk. So, yes, use compression, but remove it and check from time to time. Here's what you're looking for in terms of infection:

If it's itchy, do try NOT to scratch at it, as that will add to your infection risk by breaking down the protection of your skin.

Hope this clears up quickly for you! Keep us posted.

    Gentle hugs,
    Binney
