Looking for advice
I am currently waiting for an MRI as a breast ultrasound and mammogram did not show the thickening in my breast that I'm concerned about. I was told I had to wait 7-14 days after the first day of my period before I could have the MRI. I should start around the 27th. Since I saw my doctor last a large lymph node has appeared under my arm. Is there anything I can do right now other than just wait for the MRI? Im struggling with all of this. Thank you in advance for any info.

Call your doctor and tell him/her about the lymph node.

Thank you for your reply! I called and she said it would just be best to wait for the MRI as it will show everything. You're right.. Waiting is awful. I find it hard to even eat right now.

Waiting SUCKS!!!! Keep as busy as you can with things that will distract you. For me, while I was waiting for my MRI and then biopsy (which came back B9), I tackled my closets. Dresser drawers. I think you get the idea

Thank you all so much for the responses. I'm in a wedding tomorrow and the rehearsal is tonight. Hopefully that will keep my mind occupied for the weekend at least.

Another question...suppose I do have breast cancer. Does enlarged lymph nodes in armpit automatically mean the cancer has spread to them or could it mean they are just reacting to it

No, it does not automatically mean that it's spread, as there are other reasons why nodes enlarge. Only a biopsy can tell if cancer is found in the nodes.
