Hi, have any of you used cannabis oil during your chemo? If yes which brand was it and how much to take? I've heard it helps managing side effects. Thanks

I am using a high strain CBD oil (4:1 CBD:THC) so none of the effects of feeling "high". It's legal in Canada with a prescription, and it helps combat anxiety, pain and nausea.

I have been using cannabis oil for about 2.5 months. I use about 10 mgs of either 3:1 CBD oil (Brand: Treat Well) or 1:1 equal parts CBD and THC (Brand: Prana p3). I'm going to see a cannabis oncology nurse (medical MJ is legal here in Calif) to get more info specifically on dosing for BC. Went to one of her seminars and she said not to take too much each day because the cancer can become resistant and find a way around it - this is referring to using MJ to kill cancer cells.

Right now, Med Cannabis helps w/my deep bone pain, and it's not addictive like opioids (Norco, etc.).

thanks for your posts! I will ask my key nurse next time I see her if I can get it on the prescription in UK as well. It would be great as it's quite expensive 😩 Also Lita would you let me know the dosage?

Dunepenge: Saw the medical MJ onco nurse today, and she recommends THC-A oil for pain and CBDs for actually whacking back the cancer. She is supposed to send me the name of some cannabis firm that specializes in THC-A (which is a precursor to THC, and doesn't make you high), and she's also going to work out the dosages for my weight and condition. She says the dosage can change depending on what you want the cannabis to do for you: fight the cancer, deal w/pain, help you sleep or knock back the cancer. She also recommends vaping with a cartridge for instant relief (vaping bypasses the liver and digestive system). Oil and edibles have to be processed by the liver, and it can take an hour or two to feel the effects.

She said it's always best to start off light and increase the dosage if you need to. I'd start w/ 10 mgs a day (usually one dropper full) and see how that works. If 10 mgs doesn't help, you could go up to 20 mgs (split twice a day at 10 mgs each). Note do NOT go over 50 mgs per day because you can have side effects such as dizziness, diarrhea, memory issues.

Hope that helps. I'll have more info after the nurse gets back to me.

I'm in NC and see online retailers for hemp oil mixed with coconut oil. Says it contains 500mg of cbd. It's a oral spray. Have you heard of this?

My oncology NP says don't get cannabis that has any additives. You want the PURE stuff.

So, I finally got my dosing instructions from the Onco NP specializing in medical cannabis today. She wants me to work my way gradually up to 200mg of CBD and 50mg of THCa per day.

THAT'S A LOT OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA TO CONSUME IN ONE DAY! (Anything over 50mgs is considered a lot.)

For criminy sakes, that's practically an entire bottle of tincture (they usually come in bottles of 300mg), and at $75 to $90 a pop, that comes to $2,250 per month, if you're spending $75 a day. I can't even see myself doing HALF that every day. I'm on disability, and it doesn't pay what I'm used to netting each month, and when my State disability runs out, I'll have to file for Soc Sec disability which will be HALF of what I'm getting from the State. So how the heck am I supposed to pay for this?

    Alternative medicine ain't cheap.

    What are other people doing?

I got a prescription for cbd oil immediately after discovering my lump. I don't like the effects of THC so none of that for me... except if I take too much of the cbd oil I do feel some THC like effects.

I'm not crediting the cbd oil for my clear margins but I am hedging bets and will continue to take moderate amounts.

Can anyone cite some ((solid)) evidence about CBD's interference with Tamoxifen?

some one recommended Rick Simpkins Hemp oil for fighting cancer. It's a certain strain of MJ used to make it. The guy is from Canada , but doesn't sell it. He has a YouTube videos showing how to make it. Anyone familiar with this?

I am familiar with the Rick Simpson video and made it a few times it can be a bit tricky knowing just how long to keep it heating I have found thru trial and error to heat for a less amount of time on a low heat ( I use an old slow cooker set on low and when it gets down in volume I turn off the heat and let the rest of the alcohol evaporate on its own

The oil tastes like crap so I have made canna butter and canna coconut oil and used them in baking. There are tons of recipes online for both the oil and butter and they are easy to make without using alcohol or butane.
