Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures they are so lovely I can nearly smell the roses and the fresh evening air under the sunset. Tomorrow we will go to the woods. Might be from a car. I simply do not have the energy to walk very far. I get short of breath, my right side hurts and I just wilt.

Not that my general weakness stops me. Today, I decided to go to the mall to get DD2 a sweater for Christmas. She was wearing one Sat that was pretty worn and well loved. I thought the kid needed another nice one. It wasn't even on sale but exactly like the one she was wearing on Saturday in a different color. I bought it. The kind young clerk wrapped it up. I kind of described what I was looking for and she knew right away. She was just like my daughter.. skinny and blond. I held it up against her to see the size and can't thank her enough for finding a good one. I can't shop the sales.. no energy. I want one nice gift for each DD and DH. It took me 3 rest stops to get out of the mall and back to the car. Then I went home and napped. I found 2 things on line for DD1. So one more kid... and DH. Then I am done. This will be a record for me if I get it done in September! I have gotten addicted to BBC crime stories on Netfix... nice diversion to cancer. After dinner I hit the crime stories and murder mysteries.

God night all. thanks for listening to me ramble. I made another milestone..58. Ten years down the cancer trail.

Congratulations Rose. Not to be sneezed at. (DH is 58 also, and a cancer survivor). You are so great to get that shopping done.

imageHappy Birthday Rosevalley! This is my girl Jazzmin. For DH's 60th birthday last year, I crocheted a bikini for her and had her jump out of a cake I made from boxes. Glad you got your shopping done. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Glad Percy came home.

Awesome job on your shopping. I am also glad you were able to hit another milestone. Ten years is an extraordinarily long time you have been dealing with this. I am glad for part of the day you can lose yourself in the netflix. I need to do that more myself though I am a little earlier on the mets path. Another very happy birthday indeed.

Good night & sweet dreams, my friend Rosevalley!

Here's a story with illustrations that my friend sent to me yesterday:

Yesterday I was given a Monarch butterfly chrysalis to watch. It was a stunning celedon green with a line of tiny sparkling gold dots and more gold dots in other areas. You could just make out the orange and black wings through the chrysalis.

This morning the chrysalis was black with the wings showing brightly through the chrysalis. I waited and took lots of pictures trying for the perfect focus for the big event. Finally she emerged quickly, in spurts, not slow like a baby chick.

Her wings were tiny, her abdomen was large. With twists and turns she pumped the liquid from her abdomen to the veins in her wings. She hung by her toes while her wings expanded. When done she rested for 2 hours. I then brought her outside so she could feel the sun and the breeze. She changed her position getting ready to fly but kept one toe on the old chrysalis. Finally, silently she flew away.

What a wonderful day, for her and me !

Happy Birthday, Rose! I'm so glad for another milestone for you.

I hope you continue to do well so you can vote and finish your Christmas shopping. Then you can have lovely Christmas and New Year's celebrations, to make up for last year. After that, maybe some more goals.

    Many blessings to you, Madelyn

It was a great birthday! We went to the woods and I had a couple of hours amid the big trees, watching the water fall at Silver Creek. I walk pretty slowly and we spent way more time sitting then walking but it was sunny and lovely. It's around 1500 feet elevation. Then we napped and picked up our oldest DD to head for Paneras. Before we did that we drove through a nature area to look at the tree colors and there was a huge group of wild turkeys! Seven of them in fact, one male and 6 females. We stayed in the van and threw out cracked corn, scared them but then they came back and scarfed the feed. They are surprisingly pretty birds as far as feathers go, bands of blue, gold, cream and browns and black ticking. Really except for their heads being scaly and red they are handsome birds and big. My DH took some pictures and I will try and share.

I had chemo again today. No vomiting and I am able to eat. I am tired and my RBCs are low and I am slightly anemic but my numbers are pretty good. The thing that is bothering me is severe fatigue and some bone pain in my hips and clicking ribs. This is a fast quick infusion and waiting for labs takes longer then anything. Tumor markers come back tomorrow. I hope the numbers are good. Traffic was hideous this morning we were 40 min late. Thank you for all the photos and well wishes. Hugs back to all!!

Turkey trot... here are photos of the wild turkeys. Not exactly Thanksgiving time but hey nature decides these things. Too bad I can't take photos like Felinfeline... she would have captured the detail and color.

Rose for me it is amazing just to see wild turkeys!

I vaguely knew turkeys were brought to Europe from America by some of the first people who ventured from England to the New World but I had no idea until recently that turkeys still existed in the wild. Then GmaFoley posted a pic of one on her thread.
