Do your implants feel uncomfortable?
I will admit that the gel implants are WAY better than TEs. But, these things are not what I expected.
I'm not quite two months out from exchange surgery and really hoping they loosen up abit. I have no issues with how they look. But the feel on my chest, like two big heavy water balloons super glued to my chest.
I have 700s in. And they fit my body frame. I don't wear a bra (frankly bras are very uncomfortble) and they are perky and look just fine. I'm not sure what I was expecting for the feel of them. But it wasnt this. They are soft and squishy to the touch. Thats not my issue. I just don't like feeling like I have a permanent heavily padded push up bra on 24 7. When I dont.
Anyone love their implants? Hate them? Tolerate them? Will they get feeling better hopefully in a few more months?

it probably was 9 or 10 months after exchange before I thought "wow they feel good". They get softer too. I wore a bra the first 3 months, as it felt uncomfortable without. Now I never wear one. Give yourself some time

I am only 3 weeks and a couple of days post op. I have saline round 350s that are overfilled a little. Mostly, they are comfortable. They don't feel, or look ( thank goodness) anything like my TEs. lf I lie flat on my back with no pillow they feel kind of uncomfortable, like something is stretching. So I still sleep with a couple of pillows at night.

I'm 3 weeks post exchange with Mentor anatomicals (495 cc - fit my frame too). My swelling is down and they are "c" cup size and they feel fantastic. I hardly even notice they are there. I hope they continue to feel weightless. Prior to undergoing my BMX, I was working out, 3 days a week, with a trainer for almost a year. I was focused on strengthening my pecs to ultimately be able to perform a free pull up. (Bucket list goal). Needless to say, the BMX threw a monkey wrench onto that plan but now I'm wondering whether my strength training focused on my pecs is now paying off with this weightless feeling I have with my 495's?
Your implants are much larger and heavier than mine. Most women have very thin pec muscles. So the strain they are under may be significant if your pre MX pec muscle tone was typical.
If the sensation doesn't improve, you may ask your PS whether strength training will help you achieve a more comfortable outcome.
Are there any body building MX or BMX ladies out there who can comment? I'm curious if strength training helps us feel more comfortable with our implants. Connecting my weightless feeling with my muscle building workouts is strictly conjecture at this point.

I had my exchange in December 2009 and have 800 cc silicone implants.
My reconstruction was delayed and I was fully healed from my bilateral mastectomies. At the time of my reconstruction, I was back to working out and had regained chest muscle strength and flexibility.
There is a problem after the mastectomies of that feeling of numbness in the chest area as there are numerous nerves that were disrupted during the surgeries. It takes a number of years for the areas of numbness to go away as the nerves repair themselves. Of course, the TE placement and exchange surgeries also caused more nerve numb areas that need to heal.
During my TE placement, my surgeon did plan on using alloderm to fill any gapes in the pec muscle coverage of the TEs. He found out that I had a anatomical anomaly on the left side where I was born completely missing one of the smaller pec muscles. He made me a new one out of the alloderm. This also lead to a feeling of tightness on my left side.
From my experience post exchange, it is very important that when the surgeon gives you the go ahead, that you develop a routine of strength building (I am not talking heavy duty weight lifting but things like planks, free weights, etc)) to develop upper body strength and to do exercises for flexibility.
At this point, my implants are a part of me. They are soft, I have a bit of mammary crease under each, and even have a bit of jiggle if I am bouncing around in Zumba. I do credit my routine of exercise for the way I feel. And yes, when I slouch off because of vacation or illness, I definitely feel chest tightness creeping in and pressure on the implants from the tightening muscles within two weeks of my last workout.. It certainly is motivation to start stretching and strengthening again.

After mastectomy does anyone feel like they've been kicked in the chest by a horse? I am one week post-op and just started feeling this today. It doesn't take my breath away or hurt when I take a deep breath, but the weight of the implant or maybe it's just the healing process I don't know, but there's a lot of stretching, itching and burning where the drains are and where the incision is and today I just started to feel as though someone kicked me hard in the very center of my chest. Tylenol helped with the pain, and I put an ice pack on the drain site to help ease the pain and burning sensation, but I don't like this feeling of pain in the very center of my chest between the two breasts. It's right in the center of my breast bone. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or experienced this

For about a week post BMX, I felt like I'd been kicked in the chest too. Consider that you have had MAJOR damage done under your skin. The process of removing all of the Tissue between your muscles and your skin is akin to being filleted. I've heard the same "kicked in the chest by a horse" comment from many other women in this forum. My kicked chest pain was intense for about a week. In my case, I also had one of my 4 drains rubbing directly on a nerve on my rib. The pain with that was a searing stabbing pain that sent me back to the emergency room one day after the BMX. I eventually found a position that helped ease the irritation to the nerve and my pain subsided.
If your pain is not improving with meds or in a few days, or if you are running a fever, you should discuss it with your surgeon immediately. The pain you are now feeling is likely the worst you will experience in this process. I'm sorry you are having to go through it. I am glad you have found this site. There are many women in here who are sympathetic to what you are feeling to be sure! Hang in there!

I also had burning sensations, itching, and numbness that stretched from my back to my belly button. Good news is that the numbness is gradually fading , the areas that are still numb (4 mos post BMX, 3 weeks post exchange) are shrinking. I hope to regain most if not all feeling across my chest some day. Itching can mean your nerves are waking up. Itching at the drain site went away after they were removed.
