welcome LRGO 2016!
The last wedding I attended ...
-
...was an interesting exposure to other cultural practices. It was a Guyanese wedding with 800 guests. People moved around a lot during the ceremony and there was singing and lots of fun, as well as children having a good time. This was followed by a lunch of various traditional foods. Many guests had come from around the world to attend. We left after lunch and returned for dinner, which had traditional and more standard choices as well. I chose curried goat, as I had never tried it before and it was really good. There was a band and dancing afterward. She changed into so many outfits throughout the day, cultural and then more mainstream. I couldn't believe that they had an open bar for 800 guests! Quite the experience!

my niece was getting married. Instead of a traditional shower; she, her friends, and some of us lucky older friends/family ladies all went for a girl's spa day. The white robes, champagne, spa treatments of our choice etc. (we each paid our own bill), then we went back to my sister's house for pizza & present opening, and after that we all went to an outdoor concert (Backstreet Boys........which, surprisingly to me, was very good). Near the end of the concert it started to rain & the whole audience was singing along and dancing in the rain.
Another unexpectedly fun thing I've been involved with is.....
-
