    Hi All. I had my exchange last Tuesday after having a bilateral mastectomy in April, so I'm a week out. I am a plus sized woman who was previously a g cup. I knew going in that even the largest implants would look small on me. I don't understand the why of that, but smaill breasts I was mentally prepared for. My PS used the largest possible high profile saline implants, and overfilled them to 850.

    Cut to the chase: I now have a uniboob. There is absolutely no definition, just a raised shelf across my chest. There is nothing breast like, no separation. At my 3 day post op, PS said we need to wait for swelling to go down, but I don't see anyway there's going to be two distinct mounds here. I know I can have it redone, and believe me I will, but was just wondering if anyone else ended up like this, and actually got definition when swelling went down? (Of course my other thought is, I'm friggin small enough now (maybe a small b if there was actually anything to put in "cups") so what's going to be left when swelling goes away?)

    Anyone else experience this?

    Hi, What you are describing does not sound like a result I would be okay with either. I hope it's just due to swelling. If not you might have to talk to your surgeon about a revision.

    What did they look like right after your exchange? I'm just wondering because mine looked great right after my exchange three weeks ago and have since gone through some interesting changes ( like one looks more swollen than the other and it looks weird). But I have been told that that this can be normal.

    So hard to go through surgery only to be disappointed. While my problem was different, I cried for days after my revision. My PS said things would improve and they did. I hope the same happens for you.

    Oh my! I have the opposite problem! Mine are so far apart I have room for another implant between them. Mine are uncomfortable, probably because they are in my armpits.

    And I cannot find a bra that will squish them closer together. Actually I can't find a bra that works other than those that are like cut off tank tops. I'm considering taping them, maybe with some duct tape with a fun print, like bacon or bricks, lol.

    My breasts only resemble breasts due to their approximate location. They look like 2 mismatched not quite full full zip lock bags. The horrendous scars also mean that I have to wear something & it has to be at least two layers thick so the scars aren't visible.

    I was hoping to find some ideas on what bras have worked for others, but have not found a thread addressing my issues. So, I'm still considering different kinds of tape....

    It has been about 2 years since I had my implants put in. My surgeon assured me numerous times that my breasts look like every other reconstructed breasts, but they look nothing like the photos I have seen. And like you, my surgeon said the implants do not come in sizes large enough to be close to my previous size. I still find this hard to believe. There have to be larger implants! There must be a rich person that demanded larger implants & someone that invented them for the money. Why these large implants are not available to those of us with cancer, I do not know. Probably has to do with money.

    I think if you are patient, your implants will separate a bit and look fine. It will be an adjustment tho. Your clothes will fit differently, but that can be an excuse to buy new clothes. Maybe you will have unexpected beneficial side effects, like less back pain.
