Radioactive seed localization

I am having this done before surgery, and I looked it up here, and there is no information on it. I'm surprised. RSL I'll let you know how it goes.

    With lidocaine, it was pretty painless. I shouldn't cross the border because they will pick me up on the Geiger counter.

    My radiologist did the implantation, using ultrasound. Before releasing me to the Day Surgery suite, they brought in a team from Nuclear Med. with a Geiger counter. It clicked, and the tech said, “she’s hot.” I said “thank you.” (Should have said “that’s what he said”).

    You shouldn’t be radioactive, because they remove the seed along with the tumor & margins.

    My seeds were implanted a week before surgery. I was told not to hold any babies or small animals. I haven't given very many hugs, either.
