Hormonal Therapy and Anxiety

All: Have been on anastrozole for exactly five months. Joint pain and stiffness I had at first is now a lot better, thank goodness. But now am having real anxiety, too. Wondering if anyone has insight on whether emotionally susceptible women may get pronounced anxiety on any drug that lowers your estrogen as much as anastrozole does. AND, if so, can we expect it to ease up when the body adjusts? Any input/insight appreciated. Thanks so much.

I am not on anastrozole but am on a tamoxifen / lupron combo. I have noticed a definite increase in anxiety since starting the lupron in particular.

Arimidex (anastrole) caused huge mood swings for me, so having anxiety from it too is likely. Trigger thumb and finger, bloating, fatigue, depression. Lovely stuff ;)

I had to stop it and switch to Aromasin (exemestane). I'm doing much better on it.

ChemicalWorld, I take tamoxifen and do Lupron shots as well and it does seem like my anxiety has worsened. Are you sticking with tamoxifen or switching to an AI at some point?
