Lump on spine

Options

I am one year out from my initial stage IIIc diagnosis. About 2 weeks ago, I started having mid back pain. It was initially only bad in the morning and would get better during the day. Now, it hurts all day and I can feel a swollen spot on my spine. I've also been having pain on my right side under my ribs. So, tomorrow it's bloodwork amd a CT scan, followed by a bone scan the next day. I am beyond scared. I've been reading and it sounds like a bad sign the my pain is mid back. Most benign back pain in neck or low back. If I do have spinal mets, are they treatable? Everything I read makes it sound like paralysis and death follow soon after.

Hoping the scans show some benign cause for the pain. Keep us posted

Don't go into panic mode yet. BC is not one size, fits all. It's scary to be sure. Please keep us posted.

I just went through this last week. I had a chest CT and a bone scan. All results came back negative basically I'm just getting old. I've had pain mid back for about 3 months. the pain will come and go but there was nothing there. So have hope. Keep us posted!

Visit the Stage IV Bone Mets thread. There are plenty of BC patients who have had mets in the spine/back vertabrae who are doing OK. Best wishes, and hoping that your situation turns out to be B9.

Thank you all. 💜 My bloodwork was great yesterday. I had the CT scan and my doctor called this morning and said there is no evidence of cancer. I can't believe how traumatic this all is. I was convinced cancer was everywhere in my body and they would tell me there was nothing more they could do. I would hope I will deal with it better if something comes up again .

homeschool4us, freak-outs like this are normal. Glad you just have a herniated disc or something.
