Beautiful pictures! You are all inspiring.

I haven't been posting because minimal exercise here. I'll be starting a new round of rads to my spine next week. So, so me exercise is gentle walking and lifting very light weights. I ran the vacuum yesterday and then took a pain pill. Oh well, hoping to get much more active after rads. Keep inspiring me, ladies!!

Love, love the pics, Claire, Logang and Scottiemom! Badger, that is SO funny! Twohobbies, I like the new term for sunbathing - vitamin D layout. LOL. Karen, keeping fingers crossed. Cheryl, lucky you on the Fitbit. He must have been so touched by your thoughtfulness.

Gentle walking is good, kaption. I did lots of those when I had zaps on my spine. I couldn't lift anything but did arm exercises daily. Pain pills are also good for fighting inflammation. My onc always encouraged me to take them.

Did kettlebells the day before yesterday, TRX yesterday, and body weight exercises and stretching with DD today.

Great pictures everyone! I think one needs to check in here MORE than once a day just to keep up! We had a really fun "Minneapolis" day yesterday. Ate the most delicious brunch ever, went to several of the beautiful parks and walked the bridges connecting the city (badger, patoo. Cheryl you remember, the same walk we took when we first met up, is it 5 years ago?). Minneapolis is a lovely, friendly city. If you have never been there, you should check it out. We ended up at the Twins game; unfortunately for the final score, they saved the fireworks for after the final inning! My phone only lets me post one picture at a time; so here is brunch:

Looks like a great trip , Ruth. Beautiful falls and a great family picture.

Logang, good thing the storm has passed so you can enjoy your holiday

Kaption I hope you will see improvement soon, or I should say FEEL improvement soon.

I walked with my son and dog this afternoon for 33 minutes around another local lake. Perfect day for it again Then I came home and mowed the back yard for 35 minutes. That was quite an effort as it was too long with all the rain. Out to dinner with my husband and now I am spent .

    Thanks, twohobbies.

We walked 1.5 miles around a local outlet mall today. Well, I had a chai tea and apple muffin too- but at least I walked!

Only 7k steps today. Mostly traveling in car and a bit of retail therapy at the Polo outlet when we arrived at b our destination. Tomorrow, I'll get lots of exercise at our favorite amuzement/water park. Minibreak vacay with Dh and ds. Dd had to stay home and work this weekend.

    Great family pix Ruth.

I have a good friend in Minneapolis I haven't seen in too long....looks like I am missing out! Have fun, Ruth!

Walked 1.5 miles yesterday, today I mostly cleaned house. Surprising how much exercise that can be!

DD's fight took off on time tonight. It was so hard to say bye at the airport. We just hugged and hugged and hugged. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Tired. Finishing my wine and going to bed

((Karen)) it's hard to let the fledglings leave the nest. Hope the wine helped a little, along with some rest.

Great pix Ruth! Yes I remember our time in Minneapolis fondly. Would move there after retirement but DH hates the cold so not an option. I hate the heat so sorry patoo no FL for us. Maybe NM, CO or NC, a beautiful state with mountains to the west, beaches to the east, and bluegrass music abounding!

30 min walk this morning, what a pretty day. I have the windows open for the summer breeze.

Glad DD got off, Karen; but hard to let them go. Walked and walked and walked at the Minnesota State Fair. Thank goodness it was a cool, breezy day. Any calories spent were more than replenished with all the Fair Food.

Glad the flight went smoothly for your DD Karen!

I walked about 2.5 miles today to the edge of town. Saw this guy in a tree near the half way point. Taken at a distance and he was a little blurry but I am fairly sure he is a Red Tail Hawk (common in these parts..).

Thanks everyone...DD's flight last night was to JFK. She went to a friend of her grandparents to rest then out to lunch with another girlfriend, back to the friend's grandparents then back to the airport for 3:30ish...She landed about 5:45am so it was a long day. She is taking a group flight to Israel so it was quite the ordeal checking in and getting through security, but she has been in the air for over 3 hours. The flight is 10+ hours. She said she would call when she lands, but that is 3:30 or 4:00am Denver time, but I'll keep my phone in the bedroom...

Going for a walk with DH. Will try to be back later!!

Badger: Yes! Retire to NC! You listed many good reasons but you forgot one. We had it today: a beautiful Carolina Blue Sky!

Karen: I bet your phone is on your pillow. That's where mine would be!

Hi All. Walked/ran yesterday and today.

Aawww Karen It will be December before you know it I have such fond memories of our first meetup in Minneapolis, and Ruth I can picture that walk also that food looks fantastic. Kaption slow and easy wins the race. TH it's probably a Samsung, he just note the new note and he's on a Samsung kick at the moment.

Yesterday did Body Combat and today Body Pump and Body Combat - I stayed with the heavier weight on the bar for chest triceps and back, it was hard but if I want those pretty arms for my sleeveless dresses for the wedding I need to keep at it.

At the gym feeding the Fitbits and grousing over the diet changes I need to make to combat LE. Dh at least is on the GF bandwagon. Our ds was GFCF until last year when we found out that he finally outgrew his food allergies.

Karen best wishes for your daughter.

DD texted me around 3:30am Denver time that she landed. I saw it when I got up to go to the bathroom around 4 or 4:30. She texted me once to ask if something was hers that her name on it....a comforter, but I think it had her name by mistake as I don't remember buying one. Other than that I haven't heard from her. I know they were busy unpacking and had programming in the evening. Tuesday is a busy day for her and I think on Wednesday classes start. I know they aren't allowed to have their phones with them 24/7 (ie not in class). I don't mind but today I felt the loss of no conversation with her. There is a 9 hour time difference between Israel and Denver....they are 9 hours ahead, so the best times to talk are early in the morning Israel time or later at night. It will all be good. The program she is in posts pictures on their fb page as well as Twitter and Instagram. I downloaded those to programs just to see pictures but I think its the same pictures in all 3 places.

Need to go do some reports and paperwork that should have been done the end of the week...I really need to put paperwork time in my daily schedule!!

Enjoy the last few hours of the long week-end. Have a good Tuesday.

Wow - I'm off the internet for a few days over the Labor Day weekend and have pages to catch up on! Nice to see that everyone is so busy.

Claire - beautiful pix as usual! I can't believe that some bikers made it to the top of Mt. St. Helens - I drove up to the top one time, and it was quite a drive just in the car. Scottie - looks like you enjoyed the football game. Badger - LOL on the grandma pic! Kaption - vacuuming definitely counts as exercise! Ruth - sounds like your trip is fun! I love fireworks at a ballpark. Karen - cute pix! I know you're going to miss your daughter, but what a wonderful opportunity for her.

Also Scottie, I'm so sorry about the LE dx - been there, done that, hated it. The info that Badger bumped for you in the other thread is great. A hint - since you're a hiker, I'm assuming you have hiking poles. If you don't, get some. I had a wonderful LE therapist one time who had studied at one of the in-patient LE clinics in Germany. She said that one of the first things that they give patients who check in is a pair of hiking poles. As part of their therapy, they are told to walk through town for a few hours every day using the poles - something about the motion of using them really helps get the lymphatic fluid moving. When I used to hike without poles, my affected hand and fingers would get so swollen, but once I started hiking with poles, that fluid accumulation was much reduced. Also, if you can find a massage therapist who has training to do full body lymphatic massage, I would highly recommend that you do that regularly. Your LE therapist may know of one in your area.

Had a beautiful long weekend up at the cabin. Spent some lazy time snoozing in the hammock, but also did a 5K trail race in the mountains. It was beautiful - running through the woods, crossing creeks over old stone bridges, and running along a mountain ridge with beautiful views. Trail races are completely different than road races - you have to run so carefully so you don't trip over the rocks and roots, but wow is it pretty! It was a low key race so no official rewards, but I did finish first in the 60-69 age group. Of course I was smoked by a 71 year old - good thing she's in a different age group!

Had a beautiful long weekend up at the cabin. Spent some lazy time snoozing in the hammock, but also did a 5K trail race in the mountains Sunday morning. It was beautiful - running through the woods, crossing creeks over old stone bridges, past an old barn, around a small lake, etc. There was one nasty hill they call Killer Hill - it was about 2.5 miles into the race and we'd had a lot of downhills, so I suspected that we might have a climb coming. Then suddenly the trail went straight up. I remember looking up and thinking, "We're supposed to climb THAT???" The trail was steep and rocky with a lot of switchbacks, and I quite sensibly trudged up it rather than try to run up it, and I wasn't the only one. Trail races are completely different than road races - you have to run so carefully so you don't trip over the rocks and roots, but wow is it pretty! It was a low key race so no official rewards, but I did finish first in the 60-69 age group. I have to admit I was the only one in my group, so I guess you could say I finished last too, but I like my version better. And I also have to admit I was smoked by a 71 year old woman - good thing she's in a different age group so I can still claim victory in my group! All in good fun.

So cute, Karen! And so exciting for your DD! Great family pic, Ruth!

Speaking of retirement, have to start thinking about it as 5 years will fly. Saw a top 10 list for places to retire from a British daily and USA was listed. Big help, guys. Maybe an Airbnb in New York City.

Mary, congrats on the trail run! You win for just taking part in my book, Didn't know that about walking poles. I find my arms get tired after an hour or so and then I need to rest the arms. So I'm carrying the poles quite a bit but they do help my knees immensely going downhill.

Ran/walked Sunday, Body Jam yesterday and Salsa tonight..

Not so good on the steps today. Only 6K from a lunchtime walk. Too long a work day. Today was day 2 of gluten free and no diet coke or other artificially sweetened drinks. Sparkling water with fruit essence and lots of green tea. I guess I'll get used to this eventually. I start LE therapy next week and will find out what my exercise limits if any are. Hopefully I can continue my usual hike, treadmill and light weights routine.

The fall schedule has started at my Y. I did Step It Up & Dance (a hybrid Zumba/Step/Toning class) and Yoga tonight.

    Great job, Mary!

Scottie, I think you will be able to do everything you do now in the end.
