Lumpectomy before diagnosis

I'm 36, and found a strange lump with a BSE. Dr confirmed it was there three days later. Then a week later had an ultrasound that came back showing nothing. Waited 30days and went back to Dr,but it was still there. I was then referred to the breast surgeon. He also Confirmed it was there and scheduled the lumpectomy for later this month. Is that normal

    Usually they do a needle or stereotactic biopsy first. I'm not sure why they would go straight to excision with no further testing-not even a mammogram.

    I've been pretty calm through this whole thing, but it dawned on me today. With the size of the Tumor, cancer or not...when it's removedmy breast will be deflated. I'm just In Delayed shock I guess. I have a tumor on my pituitary gland also, so maybe that's the reason. I'm not sure.

    they did the same.wih me...Lumpectomy was over a week ago and waiting on biopsy results. If it comes back malignant at least it's gone.

    Hello same thing with me all except I had a mammogram, ultrasound showed no lump but MRI had some issues but not sure what. I see an oncologist already so she scheduled a appointment with BS went to consultation 9/6 and having lumpectomy on 9/14 the whole process has moved very fast all in all from 8/3 to now. Very worried it is cancer please any advice would be great. Thanks
