25 years old, waiting for results w/ personal history of cancer
So like many others I am new to this page and again wish I would have found it sooner, but I found a lump in left side 4'O clock about a month ago (pretty sure it appeared overnight) it's about the size of two peas, hard, not mobile and no pain, I went to my family Dr. 8/22/16 and had an US on 8/26/16 and decided to do a core biopsy right then and there because it slight irregular edges , they didn't give me a percentage just said they could not rule out cancer completely, I know that roughly 80 % of lumps are Benign,
HOWEVER I am extremely paranoid due to a my history of stage two Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, I did not do radiation but about ten long months of chemotherapy 9 years ago and have been in remission since, I find out the results in a 3 days, just looking for others with similar experience, did you have pain or other symptoms, I just like to me informed! Getting alittle worried THANK YOU!!

well its cancer.i dont have all the details yet i guess they didnt have a finalized patholgy report but ill find out more tomorrow 8/31 and have mamo and mri 9/1....im 25! I turned 25 on saturday??? Is that possible, can you have a false positive?

Oh Sour Lemon,
I am so sorry to hear this. STINKS!!! Especially at your age.
Get copies of all your reports, including pathology. When you have a better idea of exactly what kind of BC you have (there are over 20 varities, plus subtypes), then you can find the forums that will mirror what you are dealing with. I also know, especially for young women, there are some great private FB pages.
Hang tight. Ask for an anti-anxiety med if you need it (and most do, so don't let that stop you). A lot, A LOT, of information is about to be tossed your way from the Dr's and it can get overwhelming. But once your team comes together and your treatment plan is in place, you will feel back in (at least some) control

it's just not what I (or any of my dr's) were expecting, so definitely a shock and I think I will look into anxiety meds for now..i should receive the pathology reports from the biopsy tomorrow and hoping that might calm my nerves at least maybe I will have more of an idea of what it is, thank you for the advice everything is appreciated!!

So very sorry that you got this news. Stick with us here for support. You are way too young to have to face this especially after already having been down the cancer highway before

so I don't have a stage or grade yet but I guess its invasive ductal carcinoma (pretty common amoung breast cancer I hear) , they want me to get a genetics test done to see if I have some gene because I've had another type of cancer, I'll keep you all updated then maybe open up a new thread in the "newly diagnosed" section...
