Recently diagnosed as a stage 3C just finished my active treatment for my original diagnosis which was in January 2015. My original breast cancer was ER+ HR- HER2 +. The reoccurrence is now her2- just wondering if anyone else is stage IIIC? And or if anyone has faced AC after having TCH??

Hi Daczaho, welcome to Breastcancer.org. We're so sorry you are going through this again... but glad you decided to join us! We're sure others will chime in soon to offer their experiences and support but, in the meantime, you may want to take a look or post also in the Just Diagnosed With a Recurrence or Metastasis forum, where you can meet others who are just facing the diagnosis of a recurrence.
Hope this helps. Let us know how you're doing!

Hi Daczahow, count me in! Thank you for starting this topic. I am IDC stage 3c with 7/9 nodes positive er/pr and Her2 positive on the right with a malignant phylloides tumor on the left. I did dbl. MX, chemo, radiation and have herceptin until July. I am chasing hope right now. Any input is appreciated.

hi there . i was dxed stage IIIC eleven years ago and blessedly well. there are quite a few of us old timers out there living lives beyond the mind numbing early days of bc.
wishing all a gentle ride ....

And another one....I felt so alone after my IIIC diagnosis 10 years ago, until I found this forum - and HOPE!
We live in an amazing age where many years of NED are possible for us.
Best to all - Julie

Thank you all for sharing your encouraging stories! I am trying to squeeze in as much summer fun with my kids before chemo starts on the 22nd of June. I am doing pretty good most days! Today has not been one of the good days !! But tomorrow is another chance !

Been stalking the boards in the last few weeks, low & fearful yet again after finding a lump in my mastectomy scar that had to be biopsied as possible local recurrence. Wanted to share my good news today, as the good stories help me through these times. It was benign - weird scar tissue.
We may be 111C - but that doesn't mean (as I started to fear) we're on an endless downhill slope. Things can still go our way. Courage beautiful women. X

I should add - I moved from stage 111A to 111C when they found more cancer in my internal mammary nodes during reconstruction. Haven't updated signature yet.

SSInUK - Thanks for sharing your good news!

Stage IIIC here as well. I am one year past bldiagnosis and still on herceptin. I am finding it really hard not to panic over every ache and pain. I'd really love to hear of more er pr negative women who are her2 positive living many years after a stage 3c diagnosis.

Hi. I was dx in June this year with grade 3 stage IIIc - locally advanced and inoperable. No mets were found and started chemo (ac) immediately (5 days). Had ultrasound yesterday and one of my tumours is GONE! So it's working! 9 weeks, 3 rounds so far. I'm dreading round 4 this stuff is hard.
I haven't even had the surgery or rads yet but already I carry the same numbing fear though. I'm going to follow all they suggest to keep it from coming back. Always looking for good stories. I have read some posts from people and looked around and I'm never sure it's good as I see when people have mets after 3,5,7 or whatever years 😔 I feel so scared for the future. Not a great way to be so it is just a passing fear that I can't do anything about. So I tend to get back to what I need to. But it's ...... Hard to describe (but I know you will all understand).

Natallie, the chemo is working, so that's great. The taxol reacts differently with different people, so just go with the flow. You will get a mx after chemo, as stage threers do. Then rads. Plenty of us have gone through this and are still around years later, still NED. Keep us posted.

Natalie68,
I truly understand the deep fear you have...you are correct, us stage 3er's get it. You are more stronger than you ever thought. Take each day step by step...remember you are not alone in your stage 3 diagnosis. Most of us here have had all the treatments you are facing. It's hard but doable. You can do this. I did all the recommended treatments plus had my ovaries removed and opted for a bilateral MX. Hugs!
