I'm having a bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy this week. If all looks good my PS will not be using tissue expanders but rather a Direct to Implant with the Natrelle silicon gel implants ABOVE the muscle. Apparently above the muscle iis a relatively newer reconstruction technique to allow for more natural movement. Has anyone had this & are you happy with the results? Thank you!

Sounds much better than TEs under muscle. I might have chosen that if it was available but I'm happy with DIEP, my huge abdomen scar is below my 2 piece bathing suit line, french cut works.

hi. There is an active thread about this under Breast Recon topic called TE/implant OVER muscle. If u search you'll find it. Those who have had this seem very happy. I am under the muscle and happy with it but I do see the distortion when I engage my pecs. If my ps had offered that as an option I would have done it, best wishe
