Pea Size Lump after having a Lumpectomy

Forgive me, newbie here

I was diagnosed in April last year with a inch lump in my left breast. IDC stage 1. My lumpectomy was on 7/2/2015. Radiation was 8 weeks and have been on Aridimex since. Labs in June were clear. Mammography on August 4 was clear, however mammo prior to this most recent one in November showed a suspicious area, but after several more films of the area the Radiologist determined I was ok. I was concerned, but held on to their word that it ok.

Today I just found a Pea Size Shaped lump in my left breast where I had a lumpectomy a year ago. It is located below the scar about 2 or 3 inches away. After researching and reading I have become anxious, all thoughts going through my head. The pea sized lump hard and red. It seems that after reading info as I am 55 that it may be a recurrence. Not trying to self diagnose, but it is not a pimple or a bug bite.

The Aug 4 Mammogram went quickly as the tech came back in at least 5 minutes and given my paperwork.

Any thoughts from anyone

    First, don't panic. It could be something innocent. Second, call your oncologist or breast surgeon first thing on Monday to get it checked out. Don't let them say that since you just had a mammogram on Aug. 4 that it must be nothing. Be polite but pushy and get it checked out. I applaud you for being so vigilant.

    Yes, could be scar tissue or other things.  Glad you are getting it checked ASAP.

    Thank you for your response. I have made an appoint to see my Breast Surgeon for next Thursday. I wanted to mention that this pea size lump is under the breast and I can see it as it is on the surface of the skin. Is it possible then I am worrying for nothing? I guess I am trying to convince myself

    I think I am in trouble, or overly paranoid. I had a lumpectomy left side July 2015, two lymph nodes removed but clear

    I had a clear mammogram just this Aug 1 2016. I just want to add that in March 2015 I had a follow up partial mammogram of my left breast. It was scary as the tech kept coming in and taking more films and Repositioning me into the machine to get as much as the breast she could. I want to say it was 5 more films later she came back and said I was okay. She actually showed me the area of concern which were three small white dots at the top of the chest line. The Dr. felt at that time it was not cause for alarm. Fast forward to Aug.

    Two weeks ago I went to see my Breast Surgeon because of a small lump under my breast but was on the surface of the skin. I did not know what to expect, only wanted to hear the words don't worry about it. It was a sebaceous cyst and prescribed antibiotic cream. At least I could duck that arrow! I actually apologized to him because I felt like a ninny for taking up his time. Of course he said do not feel that way!

    A few days ago I was scratching under my left armpit and felt a hard lump that was about size of the tip of my finger. Then proceeded down the chest was and felt two more smaller lumps ( still under arm). All of these are not at the surface of the skin they are embedded hard and not movable. I just found a fourth lump above the collar bone left side same characteristics as the others.

    I am hoping for HOPE that these are nothing to be worried about, however after reading on the internet of course I learned the Breast tissue expands to under the arm and side of chest wall. Also I read the cancer can move up the breast above the collarbone (which prompted me in the first place) to look for a lump in that area.

    I am scared, and afraid that it has spread like wildfire, I just don't understand how after a clear mammo in Aug I can suddenly have these lumps show up.?

    Any advice please or words of comfort

    Oops Just wanted to correct the March Mammo was done March 2016.

    There are a lot of benign causes of lumps especially under a scar - even with a history of cancer, but every lump must be checked out .I would not "follow" this. An ultrasound or other imaging studies may be helpful but biopsy is the only definitive test to rule out cancer. Sometime scar feels like cancer and postoperative changes can look scary like cancer too. Good luck and take care.
