    Sorry, there's an ad you are forced to watched, but check out the report. Now, I wonder if my fear-mongering endocrinologist, or my scalpel-happy endocrine surgeon happened to see it? Of course "active surveillance" doesn't net the $$$ that surgery and Synthroid for life does, so I am sure it will take a good long while for this approach to gain wide acceptance. Sometimes the pendulum just does not swing fast enough.

    Next they are going thru my back to do a needle biopsy of that one node on the ureter. Fun never ends😱

    Diana--it never seems to end for you. They couldn't do the biopsy and remove the stent at the same time? Maybe it's time to ask how many more procedures they have planned for you--you know, get the list written out and look at it all at once rather than one at a time. See how many can be done with just one trip under anesthesia.

    Native Maine- the urologist does the stent and the radiologist does the biopsy. The stent is done in the OR and the biopsy will be done in the CT scanner through my back. Usually awake. I need a break to get my strength back. Has taken a toll on me the past few months. The hospital that did the scans wants no part of the biopsy because of the location. Have a feeling the bag on my leg is going to be a long term companion πŸ˜–

    imagelast minute I decided to make a cake for the cake contest I do each year. Only had 4 hours so it's not my best and was happy I finished and got it there on time. Take that breast cancer πŸ‘

    Eli - watched the video - 80% over diagnosis is a big number. I think maybe over the yearsΒ while new technologyΒ has been able to detect cancer earlier, over dx has risen for a lot of cancers.Β Β Research is key to helping one make a decision on tx.

    Quick update on me. I still on an even keel with my health (cancer wise) and tx. Tamoxifen is keeping everything at a standstill which I am grateful for each and every day. I have graduated to onc visits/scans every 6 mos unless something comes up. DH and I are finally able to enjoy our home/property that we purchased last year (the first yr was a lot of digging and construction = not so much fun). I am gearing up for the yearly fundraiser that I organize for mbc research and local cancer unit upgrades. Really just enjoying summer, friends and family!

    Barsco- I am happy you are doing wellπŸ€—. Even keel is good. I don't enjoy having to pee in a bag but so thankful for being pain free right now. Not sure what the plan is going to be as no be wants to do the biopsy because of location. MO is on vacation until next month so will wait and see.

    Thanks everyone! Tomorrow we have the King Arthur competition. It's a family affair. Me, hubby, teenager, and granddaughter. The kids have to make muffins and the adults cookies. I am making carrot cake sandwich cookies with a cream cheese frosting filling and hubby is making cheese cake filled snicker doodles. Son is making Huckleberry Finn muffins and granddaughter is making zucchini oat muffins. It's all about what the judges like. There are some Menonite ladies that enter who can really bake. Hubby beat them last year and was just glowing

    Congrats on your winnings Diana! All those cookies and muffins sound scrumptious too! I like to bake but I am a lazy baker - if there is too many ingredients, too many steps or it takes too long I shy away from it.

    I haven't baked since 2000, when I told my then 6 yr old daughter if she wanted cookies she'd have to do it herself!! She is an excellent baker. (Disclaimer: she might have been a tad older, but not much. I picked 6 for effect. I figured it would be more believeable than 3!!!! which is probably when it really was

    I'm sure this won't go over well with Dianarose and most of the rest of you, but I refrain from using my oven during June/July/August when I just don't want to add to the heat of the house or compete with the A/C that usually has to be on during those months. I guess our desserts tend to be the frozen kind during that time.

    My desserts are pretty much all the frozen kind, all year round. I, too, do not add to the heat of the house. this place I am in has no A/C=using oven, no option!

    Elimar - in total agreement about adding heat. I don't even do roasted meats or veggies or casseroles during May - September. I do lots of skillet or microwave or grill things. Of course in Houston I remember Christmas dinners with all the trimmings when it was over 80 degrees outside and the only way we could cook was to crank down the air conditioning.

    I feel much less OCD now about my oven habits, since I am not alone with my seasonal baking restrictions.

    Hope no one feels too offended that they did not get invited along today for my 5th (but who's counting?) colonoscopy experience. I don't think I could have borne the aroma of all the treats emanating out of the pocket because I felt SO HUNGRY after my prep yesterday. I only got some Versed, so was kind of awake for parts of it ("look, that is where we joined you back together." "Yeah, I see...zzzz." ) They are really quite boring now and there was no new evil spotted taking up residence down there. Since they are so run of the mill now, I just had my surgeon, who completed his alien probe internship a while back, doing the procedure. They don't even bother taking me up to the mothership anymore. They probably just get their updates on me from the implant now anyway. Doc said to come back in three years, but I like to remember nice round numbers so my brain automatically made the conversion to 2020.

    You know how they try and get people into a wheelchair on the way out no matter what, but then it takes a long time for the chair to show up and a person feels fine anyway, just REAL HUNGRY and in a hurry to get home to EAT? You know how some people are so irritating when they "escape" on their own and when they are seen by the elevators the nurses have to say to them, "Wait, you need a wheelchair to go down to the lobby?" Then, you know how someone might turn with a devilish grin as they press the elevator "down" button and reply, "You're going to have to catch me!" Do you know that whole scenario? Nope, me neither.
