tens machine for Lymphoedema

I have lymphoedema of the left arm and not having any MLD treatment now after 5yrs . Does anyone know if the Tens machine is used for this purpose?

    Hi, Janice, and welcome,

    A tens unit produces deep heat, which is not recommended for lymphoedema. Heat draws more lymph fluid to the area.

    Have you learned self-MLD, and do you know how to wrap your own arm in layered bandages? What other strategies are you using to control this now? Hoping you have a lymphoedema therapist you trust who can help decide how to move forward on your own. Please tell us how we can help!
