Hi all,! Got core biopsy yesterday.. Previous screening mammogram and ultrasound shows lymph node behind right breast and in axillary that looked abnormal and suspicious of malignancy. I had been prepared for needle, but ended up being core per recommendation of pathologist there. I was told by us tech helping biopsy that there would be several passes, pathologist would look at it, and then more than likely ask for more.. They did three passes. The pathologist said he had enough.. End of biopsy. Radiologist said they didn't see anything overtly suspicious, but they had stains and things to do back at lab.. My question is.. What is your experience. They only did one lymph node under my arm, but not the other two that were seen as abnormal. Yes, I am trying to read their actionss. I had a previous cancer of thyroid where I had to go to surgery twice because pathologist passed it off in surgery as benign in frozen section.)

I had a core biopsy yesterday and now I am just waiting. I think waiting is probably the worst part of this whole situation. The not knowing, the what-if's, and the share fright of hearing words I do not want to hear from a stranger. I am really trying to stay positive and just pray that the caller on the other end will tell me good news. I am pretty scared...

I too, had a core biopsy yesterday. The waiting is the hardest part. I have a high risk factor as my Mother, Grandmother & Aunt all had breast cancer. I understand being scared. Hope and prayers is all we have to get through the day. One day at time is what I keep telling myself. Today is a hard day.

My biggest concern is that I won't know the right questions to ask when the results do come in. I can't seem to clear my head long enough to think of what to ask. Any helpful advice as to what to ask?
