hi everyone..

I have spent the whole day on Google and just can't find any answers... so really hoping I can find answers from someone on here..please.

I had my double mastectomy wuth immediate reconstruction 2 years ago and yesterday I noticed a bit of spotting of my right breast... which was in fact my good breast... I had cancer in my left breast. I didn't need chemo or radiation either. It appears to be one of my ducts on my areola that is spotting a little and not my nipple. It has only spotted a little today. . And yesterday as well... Could my montgomery gland be infected? I have no breast tissue at all so not likely to be cancer surely? I have my own nipple though.. but not bleeding at all. Had all my tests recently and all was clear..

Any ideas or has anyone else had this before?

Thx Amber

If there's a change in the look or texture of skin, especially along with any kind of discharge, it would be best get in touch with your doctor on Monday and set up an appointment to have them look at it a bit closer.

Anything we say here would be a guess, at best because it could literally range from something minor like irritation or an allergic reaction to something much more serious like an infection or a recurrence of cancer.

Even a bmx can't guarantee cancer will never return somewhere else in the body, since they can't remove all breast tissue on a microscopic level, and because you kept your own nipples; I kept my nipples after my high risk/family history bmx and they still want me to continue treating myself like I'm still a 'high risk' patient (with special instructions to pay close attention to the nipples in case there are any changes in them) because of that, even though the risk is significantly lower with the breasts removed. :(

    Thanks for your reply amw.

I emailed my breast surgeon earlier this morning and she actually replied right now... she says if the sonar is clear it's probably an inflamed duct. It's not my nipple .. she told me to put on Bactroban. Will use the ointment and keep a close eye on it. Had all my checks a few weeks ago and it was all clear.

Hopefully it clears up after a round of the Bactroban! It's nice that your surgeon got back to you on a Sunday too.

Bactroban? Sorry, but why? How do they know it's infected? Can they express it and send it for path? Please keep an eye on it. Not to scare you but I had nipple discharge after a clear check. I had a small spot on my areola and when I went to flick it off (thought it was something on it) a drop of blood came out of my nipple. More films and still b9. The duct was excised with the assumption scar tissue was blocking it. Pathcame back IDC and DCIS. I know it's not coming from your nipple, but it's still discharge. Also turned out I had pagets found on final path from bmx. Again, I don't want to scare you but keep on the doc if it doesn't get better fast. Bactroban is potent-used for MRSA infections because of it so if it isn't better in a few days, please go in.

hi thx for your reply. I can't get bactroban unless it's prescribed so going to see the doctor in half qn hour. I had a sonar twice in the last 3 months as I moved country and needed to get into the system here in the UK... and had a bone scan a month ago due to funny pain under my ribs and all was clear.
