Ki-67?

I read a lot about Ki67 on these boards, but it is not in any of my pathology reports, nor have any doctors mentioned this to me--all I have is my grade (1) and oncotype (9) as any measure of proliferation. Do some hospitals not test the Ki67?

Hi Kathy.....and congratulations on the low grade and oncotype DX result. You are correct that not all pathologists measure Ki67. Ask your surgeon or oncologist about this test. Since the oncotype DX test includes Ki67 as part of the proliferation genes and since you have a low oncotype result, I would suspect that you are very highly ER/PR positive and have a low Ki67 rate.....but I'm not a doctor.

Good luck on your treatment and recovery.

Yes, I was 99% ER and 95% PR. I started at a local hospital then ended up with treatment at Sloane Kettering, and neither place ever mentioned it. I will ask my oncologist at my next visit though.

Note too when reading any articles that it was older data back when they tested for Ki67. Oncotype and other testing appears to be replacing it.

I had a Ki67 test but the oncotype test trumped my ki67 score.  I did not need to have chemo.

my Ki67 was 30-35%. My oncotype was 20. The doctor was pretty confident about no chemo. I brought up the high ki, and she dismissed it, saying it could have been from my breast recovering from the biopsy. Is that true? Are there any studies that support that hypothesis?. My miteosis was a 1 in the biopsy. I'm in a second guessing myself mood.. as every paper I read says high ki, low pr+ value = luminal B. Argh I need my blueprint results... waiting til Friday is gonna suck.

Good luck with your results.  The waiting sucks.  It is also horrible to be in the grey area on the oncotype test.  I wish you the best.  Go for a second opinion if you are unsure.

Just to follow up.. Mammoprint gave me a Low Risk score, and they tested me twice to confirm. I'm luminal A and my Onc thinks the ki-67 score was a patholigist error/eyeball exaggeration. No chemo for me.
