Hey ladies,

I was DX at 34 years old, last September. I'm considered high risk (see my stats) and I have no children. Thinking about adoption and I'm just wondering if there are many ladies on the younger side of DX who have gone down this route and what were your experiences? Were you successful or was your BC DX a sticking point for adoption agencies? Thanks

Hey! We have very similar stats, and I am 33. My husband and I are also hoping to adopt someday....I think we are leaning toward fostering to adopt. From what I have read, that is an easier way in with my breast cancer stats. Our plan is token that possibility open, but wait a few years before seriously pursuing. I think after the 5 year mark, people will be much more willing. But I would love to hear other experiences, too!

Following! My husband and I are in the same boat. I have also heard that if you are a cancer survivor, your chances of a successful adoption are much less. Would love to share and learn if anyone has any info!

I'm in the same boat as well. Hoping to adopt as the risks of pregnancy would be a little too high for me. It seems terrible in this day and age that they could discriminate against you for being a breast cancer survivor, especially if your doctor has given you a clean bill of health.

Let me know how it goes or if you find out anything!
