Seriously Ticked Off

According to the radiology center I went to for a follow-up ulltrasound and digital mammogram they faxed the report to my doctor that very day, even though the tech told me it would be 3 business days. My doctor's office said they don't have it. I recently relocated here to Florida and this is the second time I've been met with the medical incompetency of "he said, she said." I'm seriously scared but telling friends and family back home I'm fine. Both my mom and a first cousin have had breast cancer and cancers of many forms run rampant through both sides of my family. I'm 54 yrs. of age and my routine mammogram showed growth in a nodule with indistinct margins in my left breast (I don't remember the exact wording). The same side I've had a benign tumor and microcalcifications in in the past. In just the last two weeks my face is breaking out, I've had my first cold sore in my entire life, now have a canker sore under my tongue, and woke the other night from a dream that the devil was after me and I was afraid to go back to sleep. This not knowing anything and having my family so far away is taking its toll on me. I WILL be calling this doctor the moment her office opens in the morning. Praying for just one night of restful sleep.

Hi Toonces - sorry we have to meet this way, but glad you found this site.

Can you go back to the radiology center and pick up a copy of the report yourself?

I've done that plenty of times (abosolutely no patiences here!)

***Edited to add...or did you have the US and Mammo somewhere else and then relocated to FL and that's why you can't get it?***

Bless your heart I know you are a nervous wreck. There is no excuse for incompetence. Mistakes happen but someone isn't doing their job. I would definitely be on the phone tomorrow. Someone would be giving me the results immediately.

I have a family history too. My mother and sister both had and have BC. I have to say the Women's Health Center where I had my mammo and biopsy done were very efficient. Thing is I already knew. Never ever been called back in for a redo once I left the facility plus the nurse said one breast was larger than the other so game over.

If you have BC thenonce the surgery and treatments are planned it will get a bit less stressful. It's the unknowns that drive our anxiety through the roof.

Whatever happens you will get through it. We are all living proof of that. Btw I will be 5 years out next week.

Keep us posted and keep the faith.

Thank you both for your kind words. I finally called this morning and learned that my tests showed I have a complex cysts. I will be seeing a surgeon next week for a biopsy. I read that they are mostly benign, so that helped my worries quite a bit. Thank you, again for taking the time to respond and alleviate some of my anxiousness. I've just had so many things so awry since relocating that I have almost learned to expect the worst.
