You might want to post your question in other topics/forums such as breast reconstruction, surgery before during and after, to get as much info as possible. As for the fear of LE it can happen to anyone even woman with only one node removed, and other woman with more nodes removed than you don't develope it at all.

See your Dr. and get all of your questions answered, and if you don't feel comfortable with the answers you receive see someone else. You are the smartest person you know about what is going on with your body, trust your instincts and get the care you need.

I hope that you get some answers that will help.

Absolutely wise to talk to your doctor and DEFINITELY have him send you to a Lymphedema therapist. Five nodes put you at risk for lymphedema (some women have no nodes and get lymphedema). Have nodes removed in more arms means you need even more training on how to prevent lymphedema. Also, it would be very important for you to be measured now to have a baseline for the future.

I've had lymphedema for 3.5 years. I am constantly urging women to see a trained Lymphedema therapist. They are a lifeline and oh so knowledgeable if you find a good one!!

I had 4 nodes removed on one side & 5 on the other. It took awhile for the swelling to go away. You are only 2 months from your initial surgery(june 8). I still had swelling at that point. Hope it resolves.
