Phantom pain? Phantom itching?

I had an MX last November. No radiation or chemo. Take Arimidex every day. Sometimes my breast itches like crazy. It would be where the nipple was. Scratching does not relieve the itch, I can't even feel the scratching. Sometimes it hurts, too. A pinchy feeling. Nothing relieves this either. Are these "phantoms" like amputees get? If so, how long do they last?(I mean like years)

    I also get phantom nipple itch. Bilateral MX in June, no recon. Same as you - Scratching doesn't relieve the itch, and I can't feel the scratching anyway. Most times I just end up rubbing the area briefly and then ignoring it. I imagine this is the same as what amputees get (since we are amputees). I would imagine this should fade in a couple of years. I've had similar problems with previous open surgeries and the weird nerve sensations went away after about 2 years.
