Blah.
Since the beginning of July...
-I had tumor regrowth because I couldn't tolerate Abemaciclib and had to switch up my treatment plan.
-A college acquaintance/casual friend died very suddenly of colon cancer. He was my age (31).
-Two women in my FB brain mets group, both who are only in their 30s, have been having a very difficult time.
-Jill died. After she had beat the odds so many times, I really thought she might "fail hospice."
-Then yesterday I found out that my uncle, who has so far gotten away with very easy treatment for his prostate cancer, has elevated PSA numbers after three years. His situation is not dire and his prognosis still good, but he's too young to have to have to go through this shit. Not as young as those of us in our 20s and 30s but still too young.
I hate cancer....

I agree, I hate cancer too. I'm so sorry that so many around you are dealing with this. Sending you a hug.

Thanks Kandy. On top of everything, my mom had her six month bloodwork today, the initial report is good but the more detailed report won't be available until next week. So I'll be a little on edge until she's cleared...

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time right now. We do the best we can just to get through this ourselves when the ones we love end up in the same or worse situations. I was always happy when I was diagnosed because it wasn't my mom or my sisters or daughters having to deal with cancer, then boom, my mom got a CA dx, surgery, radiation the whole nine yards. I would rather carry the burden but sometimes we don't have a choice.
Hang in there - you will see better days.

So sorry you've had such a rough road lately. Sending you a virtual hug!

Sometimes it seems that everything falls upon one's shoulders at once, and whereas even a single item could be challenging to deal with, everything together can be overwhelming.
If you haven't already done so, perhaps you might consider making an appointment with a counselor or therapist to obtain support. Some people find that anti-depressants can help, and there are also meditation, exercise, yoga, acupuncture, and other modalities that can help.
About your uncle: There is a study on how taking 30 mg of freshly ground flaxseed daily can lower the aggressiveness of prostate cancer. http://www.goldjournal.net/article/S0090-4295(01)01014-7/abstract?cc=y=
