good morning all

I'm sure I'm worried for nothing but curious what others went through And if I should be worried. I have had 2 mammograms and an ultra sound. I have been referred to a surgical oncologist and my appt is next month. The total waiting from finding the lump to seeing the doctor is about 3 months. The first call I got from my family doctor said no issue prob a cyst will redo mammogram in a year. Then I got a second call saying its A fibrous tumor and they sending me to the breast care clinic. Now I got a letter from the breast care clinic for a surgical consult appt due to a mass found in the right breast. Am I missing something or are they just normally this not forth coming with information?

Dear Jenny1ca, Welcome to the community. We are sorry for your worry and the long wait for answers. Most here would say that waiting for answers is the most stressful part of any breast change. We wonder if you might consider contacting your primary who might be better able to explain the process and the timing of all of this. It might alleviate some of the concern if you had more information and perhaps letting him/her know of your concern is your next step. Stay connected here and keep us posted. The Mods

    hello!

I am in the same boat as you. I just joined this site for a piece of mind. I'm an emergency trauma nurse, and like to think I have a good handle on scary situations. Apparently not when it comes to myself. I am 25 which is going for breast cancer but not impossible. About 8 months ago I found a lump on my right breast. My gyn blew it off due to my age. I sort of just went with it thinking he knows best. Fast forward to June and I've notice it's really grown. I went back and they decided to do an ultrasound. They saw a 2 cm lobulated hypoechoic mass with marked vascularity. I was hoping to have just seen a little cyst that could be aspirated. The radiologist decided to do a core biopsy and in a couple of days the results came back as a benign fibroadenoma. As I was pleased with this it still didn't sit right. They decided to remove the mass all together due to it growing in size rather than waiting six more months. I just had that procedure Tuesday. The surgeon came out saying it was not what she thought it was and that it did not look like a fibroadenoma. She said she saw calcifications, which were not seen in ultrasound. And she also said it looked like a clogged milk duct. And might I add, that the mass could have been "dried up old milk". I have a daughter who is three . I never breastfed , and also have never had any signs of infection in my breast. I am waiting for pathology report, but am hoping for some insight Due to my frustration. Thank you
