hi all,

I had a bilateral mastectomy with expanders put in yesterday morning and was sent home this morning. Actually staying in a hotel. 2 sentinel lymph s removed as well. So much pain, lot's of pain meds. I am fortunate to have so much support. 4 adult family members here, two teenage cousins, two close friends and my 7 year old daughter.

I just asked them all to leave my room though, so I can sleep. Waiting for pain meds to kick in so I can...

Rest well! Recovery is challenging but so is waiting for surgery! I hope you will bounce back quickly.

This too shall pass. Yes, it's painful but manageable with good pain management. Be very careful though once the pain is taken care of don't go all adventurous and do stuff you aren't supposed to do. Patience is the key to recovery. It will be the hardest thing, be aware of that, but the more patient you are the faster you will recover. The faster you will try to do things the more you will be thrown back and your recovery will last longer.

Big virtual hugs. Get some sleep. That is what you need. Rest.
