hey Rose, yesterday I visited Assos, a cute ancient town by the Aegean sea and took a few photos for youimage

I took this one on our way as DH was driving..

    image

This is Dad & I.. He is praying for us all!

We had yummy fish fresh out of the sea! And had great coffee..

Today I have the flu.. Oh well, the aircontion in the car versus the heat outside did it.. Who cares.. We climbed mount Eda today! Great oxygen. I tell you, what I wish every now & then is to time travel you all to here right after your dx es. Quality surrounding is a major part of therapy!

I have my fall/winter collection ready for sales soon. This e-biz hobby really takes my mind off c-buggers and gives energy to me..

I was able to donate a cınsiderable amount just in time before school registration last week, which is the happiest event recently..

The coup related stuff has not dissolved yet.. We got adjusted to the new normal :)))) Turkish folks are tough people! We'll see what happens next. Still defending our democratic rights..

Love love listening to Melody Gardot still. She's like my inner voice..

    Hugs& love

Thank you all for sharing your great photos and warm wishes. Such beautiful places you have all shared. I love the pictures. Today was a very hard day. I guess the 3rd week of gemzar can kick butt. I took DD3 for lab work and just barely made it home getting very nauseous and then puking up a storm. Thankfully not in the car. I felt like I had the flu the rest of the day slept on and off. Zofran and head ache. Just now at 8:30pm got it knocked back. I just feel like crap. Good thing next week is a break and no drug. I am worried about the N/V every time I get in a car. Maybe a head scan? Is it just the chemo? I hope I feel better tomorrow. fingers crossed.

Lots of love to everyone. Thank you - you always cheer me up and I am so grateful.

Rose, praying tomorrow will be a better day. Maybe if it continues, ask for a scan just so you won't keep worrying about it. Hopefully, just the drugs that causing it.

Rose so happy for you! I remember being cold most of the time when I lost my hair.

Have you tried ginger "tea"? I found it on these boards when I had n/v. Peel about an inch of fresh ginger and slice into about 2cups of water. Bring to a boil and let steep for 12 min. Add 2 cups cold water and sweeten. I added a green tea bag. It helps and is very refreshing.

Would those sea bands that work for motion sickness or that patch they put behind your ear after surgery be options?

Ebru you look beautiful. Fresh fish. Yum!

Ebru you do look beautiful I agree. You and your Dad make a nice picture.Turkey must be an amazing place wish I could have seen it. Glad to hear your country is back to getting along. For as sick as we are - we are strong women eh?!!

Today is better. I guess the N/V flu like symptoms are the 3rd dose of gemzar related. Whew it kicks butt. Still sleeping alot but better. It's working but comes at a price. :-) I will try ginger tea. I also have crystal ginger candies that Trader Joe's sells that are helpful for tummy woes.

My youngest cat is harassing my older one.. gotta go break it up. Love to all. Be well as you are able.

Dropping by for a quick hi, hug and taste of tea, dear Rosevalley.

These treatments sure do beat up on us. What a price we pay to be here for our loved ones.

Rose, I just did the math and see that the young 'us and teachers are halfway through summer break.

Looks like you made it over the summer hump.

Wishing you renewed vigor, health and well-being for the days and weeks ahead.

loving kindness from your MBC sister, Stephanie

Have fun on your vacation Suzanne. It looks amazing. Hi Patty how are you?? We have been through it eh? How is xeloda? Treating you well?

Yesterday so sucked and today is better but I took a whopper nap and wonder what Gemzar is doing to my kidneys. My urine is the color of dark beer. I think I have drunk enough. I drained and it's straw colored and caused all day aching like the inside of the belly was irritated. Literally sore to the touch. Stephanie have you had that? This is new to me. I am so glad I will be off the chemo next week. This is a little icky but at least I am not puking or feel like I have the flu. You are right it looks like I will make it to September! Whoo hoo. What we do for our kids.

    Oh goodness, dear Rosevalley!

Just checking in at bco one last time before bedtime - am concerned about Rosieo's broken jaw and here you are.

My drained ascites were straw-colored at first. Then a pinkish peach. Now they are a bright, bright red like florescent watermelon red. Blood. Plus bits of stringy stuff like mucus.

TMI for anyone else, but who else can you compare notes with, my friend? :)

Yes, my belly aches all the time - ascites makes it worse, but there are lots of nodules there and my liver stretches down to my iliac crest now.

I'm not even enduring for sake of children, just doing my best to enjoy the final ride of my life.

One of my dreams is to get outside with camera again to share more beauty with you, but hard to be up and focused now.

Good thing we've so many talented photographers showing us what moves them! Moves me too.

Wishing you and everyone the sweetest of dreams and days, Stephanie

I'm glad today is better for you Rosevalley. I hope you continue to improve on Gemzar. Thinking of you tonight.

Here is a picture my DH took on our trip to Port Orford, OR. I really loved it there and wish we didn't have to leave so soon. I hope to go back someday.

Our Oregon Coast is so beautiful. Cold and rocky but gorgeous. Here it is August and I have a sweatshirt on and a cap on my fuzzy head. I am finally warm. High today only 71. Got a MRI scheduled for a week out at 7am.. yikes. Maybe find out why all the motion sickness. So tired and soo glad to have a week off no drugs.

Stephanie it must be uncomfortable to have your liver so distended. Your fortitude and ability to carry on amazes me. Are you still able to eat? I find that I can eat small meals and I am nearly always full. I wish you well.

    HiPatty. Hugs sister.

I would love to vote in the next election as far as a goal. DD3 is bored and I am having a hard time keeping up with her. I am so tired.

I am just tired and sick of feeling sick. I made eggplant parmesan yesterday and it was so tasty and I threw it all up. I can't figure out why I keep vomiting so frequently. If it wasn't for the bloating, N/V life would be so much better. It is miserable to eat dinner since I always feel sick afterwards and I eat tiny amounts too. I can eat breakfast and a little lunch but then that's it. Drain days are better then non drain days as the ascites fluid build up makes eating a misery. So the cycle continues. Life is what it is. I just have to accept it. Next week I get an MRI of my head to see why the N/V on car rides. I hope no brain mets but I do wonder why this new development when I never was car sick before. I have skull mets but they should not effect me. The joys of life in cancerland.

I'm so sorry about the bloating/N/V. Miserable to be sure. I will be in your pocket hoping no brain mets either for sure. Send my thoughts your way as usual.

I can't believe it's been 7 days since I have been here. I got up this morning at 5:15 and promptly had a puke fest.Rather miserable as it's all the painful bile that burns so much. So I had zofran for breakfast. Then off for my MRI and I got the results, increased skull mets but no brain mets. Yay. So we still don't know what is causing the nausea and vomiting and motion sickness. Maybe inner ear? No clue. I have pulled off a liter every day since Sunday. The ascites has increased along with gas, bloating and distention. My tumor markers won't be back for another day. My albumin is low as is my total protein but the rest of my numbers looked good. I am tired and wonder just what is making me vomit? Will ILC show up on MRIs or is it just a sneaky cancer that infiltrates and wrecks havoc. Maybe all the N/V is from gut issues, pressure and intestinal influences. I don't know. I just don't like the symptoms. Maybe as Gemzar drops the counts then things will get better. Just have to wait it out.

Thank you for the prayers and well wishes they lighten the load and make the journey easier. I hope each of you on this hard journey is spending time doing things you enjoy with people you love and care about. Lots of love to all. rosevalley

Oh sweet Rosevalley, your ascites fluid is increasing and the N&V is too. Such misery and scary to think that December-January might recur.

You have come through so much this year, this summer - to be this close to school starting up again.

Yet, there is likely to always be one more thing to do, one more milestone to make, especially when you're a mother.

I hope you can take it one day, one hour, one moment at a time and enjoy whatever life pleasures still enthuse you.

We all deserve healing on all levels and it's truly grace when all we worked to attain comes into being.

May you be healed, at ease, safe and happy.

    loving kindness always, Rosevalley, Stephanie
