Right upper quadrant pain, scans ordered ugh
Hello all, I am more of a reader than poster but I have gotten so much help on this board! I recently started feeling like a pressure under my ribs on my right side. It reminds me of when I was pregnant and the baby was in my ribs. It progressed to a uncomfortable feeling like something is blown up under my ribs. It is very positional. Sometimes the pain is worse than others but it has definitely progressed from an occasional pain to almost constant. I had the Drs call in some Tramadol to help ease the pain and she ordered a CtA of the chest, a bon scan (right hip pain as well) and some labs. I have been on Tamoxifen for 18 months and I wonder if it could be affecting my liver? I'm nervous it could also be liver mets? Anyone relate to this feeling? All help app

It also could be gall bladder or a GI issue. Hoping it is something like that. I was having horrible upper right quadrant pain, but it was not 24-7; I had it each day for a couple hours. Mine was related to diet. I gave up dairy (very hard) and it has eased by 90%. Hoping yours is a GI issue too. Keep us posted.

I've never posted here but couldn't help replying to your post!! You described my symptoms word for word ( even the hip ) even on the right side!! I have dr appointment Thursday to figure this out! Mine has been going on since end of May and I'm trying to convince myself it's possibly trunkal lymphodema but I'm 7 years out and never had issues before. I'm 3 months past my 1 year check up mainly because I had put cancer thoughts so far out of my head I just forgot but this new pain makes me very anxious!! Hope you get answer soon and please keep us informed I'm very curious what you find out!! I've had my gallbladder removed many years ago so I can rule that out!

Headed to go get labs done, and my scans are scheduled for Friday. It has been a busy weekend and I've tried to keep going as usual but this pain is getting to me. I had my gallbladder out years ago so I can rule that out. Truncal lymphadema could be causing it but wouldn't I see swelling. I only weigh 120 so I would think it would be noticeable. However I did have some cording into the ribs and abdominal area about a year ago.
Ready to get this figured out. I do not like taking medications and am trying to take tramadol but it is just taking the edge off not taking it away.
Keep me posted @gooniesgirl I'd love to see what your dr says as well

Forhisglory good luck with your scans Friday!! I really don't know much about lymphodema. I'm just trying to think of any options that doesn't include recurrence!! For me it's a constant pain that at times I can forget it's there but then at least once a week pain is so bad I debate whether to go to er!! I'm not much for taking pain meds but some nights I wish I had something so I could go back to sleep cause pain seems minimal in morning! I hope to hear how you are doing and keeping fingers crossed for both of us
-
Forhisglory how did your blood work and scans go?? Hoping for the best for you!
-
my bloodwork was good so that is relieving. I don't know the results of the scans yet. They were done yesterday and all I know is after the cat scan the radiologist said he recommended a bone scan which was already scheduled for that afternoon. So now I wait but having a hard time keeping my mind off of it. 😆
How was your appointment
-
watching and waiting and thinking about you both x
-
Thanks grainne! Having scan later today! Any news Forhisglory I'm thinking about you today and hoping for good news
-
Thanks you all! My ct scan did show a small area of concern on my spine that could just be degenerative changes but my bone scan was clear so that relieves my mind some. However I'm still having the pain and they aren't sure they could see enough so they ordered abdominal and pelvic scans. Waiting to know when they will be and I have an appointment Friday.
Hoping your scans went well? I picked up my own report Monday morning because I couldn't wait to hear from my dr
-
forisglory that seems pretty good news but I'm sorry you still have that residual worry. I look forward to hearing more from you on friday and i will be thinking of you.

Awwww I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with what I feared! Prayers for a quick response to treatment. I'm at the dr now. Still haven't had the other scans but I'm hoping she has an idea of what is going on.
-
So my dr ordered a pet scan and also stopped my aspirin and Tamoxifen for a week and we will see what happens.
-
Grainne, I am so sorry about what you're dealing with. Hoping you have a plan in place soon that keeps those damn spots in check for many, many years.
ForHisGlory, Keep us posted. Hoping you get answers, and that they are benign
