Mine came back at 16 and I have a 10% rate of recurrence in 10 years after doing 5 years of tamoxifen or AI. Seems high to me, so I am definitely going to take the dang pills as long as I can! Good luck with the oncotype test results!!

Carlsoda, 10 % that is what I would have had with chemo, maybe. 23% without, sounds a bit scary but they are looking out for me.

Oncotype testing determines whether chemo’s benefits would outweigh its risks in ER/PR+. HER2- cancers with 2-3 or fewer nodes (used to be limited to node-negative tumors). Any score of 17 or less indicates chemo would probably do more harm than good, because there aren’t enough fast-growing cells to be vulnerable to chemo. Not only isn’t Oncotype the determinant of whether you can skip anti-hormonal treatment, its predictive value assumes you’ll be getting at least tamoxifen, whether or not you also get chemo. (AIs are even more effective, for postmenopausal or ovarian-suppressed pre-or-perimenopausal women).
