Low-acid, high-alkaline?

I found this online re: alkaline treatments, is anyone using this sort of diet? How's it working?

"I had the start of lung, breast and lymphnode cancer. My dr scheduled my biopsys a month and a half away. I started drinking a teas of baking soda, 1/4 tsp tumeric, one tsp molasses, and 1T apple cider vinegar in a glass twice a day. When I went to the drs for the procedures they couldnt find any lumps or black spots or growths on my lungs. I made my body alkaline that way and ate what I wanted otherwise."

A quick google brought this:

Cancer cells thrive in acidity (low pH), but not in alkalinity (high pH), so a diet high in alkaline foods like fruits and vegetables that also limits acidic foods, such as those from animal products, will raise blood pH levels and create an environment in the body that discourages cancer growth.

    As far as I know, this is nonsense. It is true that cancer cells can't survive in an alkaline environment. However, this is true for all cells. If you actually succeeded in making your body alkaline enough to kill cancer, you would die. Also, the body has some very accurate mechanisms for maintaining body PH.

    I did read recently about a doc who had experimented with injecting baking soda solution directly into the tumor and surrounding tissue. Apparently he had some promising preliminary results. That would make way more sense, in terms of treatment, than drinking baking soda.

    Another baking soda canard going around endlessly on the interwebz is that you can trick the cancer into consuming the baking soda by boiling it together with maple syrup. The supposed idea being that cancer cells like sugar and this way they will consume "tainted" sugar. Just a tiny problem with that, the sugar/syrup and baking soda would be broken down in the stomach and separated, so that is another non-starter.
