Help--how often to change packing

Good evening community.

Three weeks ago I had a SNB which came back clear. However, after the procedure I couldn't get it to stop bleeding. Last Friday they took me into the OR and colderized the soft tissue and applied clotting medicine. On Sunday night it started pouring blood again. I went back to my surgeon today and he packed it. He told me I would have to continue to pack it for several weeks until the incision closes. He offered me to stay at the hospital for the next couple of days but I declined. They told me to watch for pus or a foul smelling Oder.

But I forget how often they told me to change it and I know they are gone for the day. They packed it 3 hours ago and I didn't know if I should wait until tomorrow to pack it. I won't be able to do it tomorrow until after my husband gets home.

Can anyone help?

    Briannek so sorry to hear about your bleeding problem.  I don't have an answer, sorry.  But maybe call the surgeons office anyway, my surgeon had 24 hour phone service so I could call at any time and someone would get back to me asap.  Hopefully someone else here will be able to answer your question shortly.
