Head sweats anyone?

Just finished my 5th Taxol, 7 more left. I've had head sweats since chemo started and wondered if anyone else has them at night. I was having some night sweats before any of the cancer saga began so I'm guessing it is a combo of chemo and menopause...ugh.

(stage IIB, had double mastectomy, AC & once Taxol is done I'll be having radiation for 5 weeks)

    Hi Reg-

Side effects from chemo can run the gamut, so it's possible that the night sweats are from your Taxol treatments. We have a Weekly Taxol Group thread that is very active and has tons of great info, and you'll be able to connect with other members and hopefully get some insight from them!

Had horrible head sweats during chemo! So glad my hair was gone! I thought maybe it was the steroids doing it. Do you get steroids with taxol? I had Taxotere so I am not sure whether you do or not. It should settle down after chemo. I don't have it anymore

I too had head sweats that started with taxol. I was put on Tamoxifen the next week after ending taxol and continue to have the head sweats and now they have gotten more widespread now sometimes the fronts of my legs sweat too. It feels like I can feel the beads of sweat forming on my short hairs and coming to the top on my head . Weird .

Hello - I think the head sweats are possibly from the steroids.

My head would get hot and face pink for two days after CMF chemo.

I am fine now. And chemo is finished... But still getting hot flashes.. Yes it's that exciting!

Although I am 53 so normal. I put the air conditioner on highQ that seemed to help a bit to not trigger more.

    You will get through this!

Head sweats and hot flashes are normal. I was put in chemopause and had in 3 months all the hotflashes other women have in 5-6 years.

Anyway, be prepared for long term head sweating. Since chemo (and it's been 6 years) my sweating pattern has changed. When I'm hot I barely sweat on the body at all, but my scalp... in a couple minutes my hair is wet like I just took a shower. In summer, especially if I have to work in the garden, I get the Mississippi river running from my head down my neck both front and back. Really embarassing sometimes.
