If I get a reoccurance, does it mean I'm stage 4?

So I'm not sure how it works with BMX... I'm weighing options and leaning away from chemo (and stewing waiting on the mammaprint/blueprint I get on friday).. but since the Oncotype says chemo lowers my risk by 3%. And the Onc felt my past Melanoma diagnosis is a factor in NOT reducing my immune system, She felt 3% wasn't worth it. So With an AI/OS, I"m at 10% chance of reoccurance.

But I have no boobs... so if I reoccur... does that mean I jump immediately to state 4? Is there a way most women with BMX stage 1 reoccur that isn't stage 4?

Hi there. The short answer is yes. You can still have a local recurrence without automatically going to stage 4. It can be in the scar, chest wall, or even the little bit of breast tissue left when you have a BMX. Hope that helps. Someone might come along with an even better answer. Good luck
