Anyone start Rads w Hematoma from Lumpectomy

Options

Just wanting to know that it'll be OK... have a hematoma at my lumpectomy site that feels so tender... like the other day I took my girls to see The Secret Life of Pets (fun movie, btw) and my little one (5) sat on my lap and leaned against me and I felt discomfort and rearranged her to lean against my "good" side. I'm on blood thinners (for hypercoagulability issue) and likely that contributed to the hematoma... just looking for assurance that I'll be OK starting rads with a hematoma still there. My RO thought it would be fine... but you know how we can overthink things. My surgery was June 14 and I start rads this Wed., July 20. Thanks in advance.

Hi I had a lumpectomy April 1,2016 had to go back in

April 15 to get clean margins, I developed a Large hematoma after the second surgery, it was crazy large. In half an hour my left breast

swelled to the size of my head and turned black. My husband was shocked when he walked into the room after leaving to go get some coffee. 4 weeks after I started radiation, did 33 treatments. Finished, July 5 2016. Everything was good until 18. I noticed an area around my incision looked strange. Seen my surgeon the next day, I had an infected area. Today, when I went back for a recheck, they walked me to the hospital and had me admitted as an out-patient, to get IV antibiotics for 4 days. said it was cellulitist. Hope everything goes ok with you

    LoveMyFamily--

I had a huge hematoma after lx, and my surgeon saw me weekly for the first 5 weeks, waiting for the right time to aspirate the blood (once it de-gelled and became fluid enough to be aspirated)--he removed 60 cc of blood in the fifth week another 40 cc the following week. He had also said no rads until at least 8 weeks post-lx, and my RO concurred entirely. I ended up having the rads simulation about 8 weeks post-lx and started rads about a week and a half later..
