I had my first chemo treatment on monday and I opted for the neulasta patch. It was injected just 2 days ago on Tuesday. I have such bad bone pain. Especially in my thighs. Any idea when this will lessen? Does it get worse with more treatments? I can't stand the pain.

So, when I was being prepped for chemo (TCHP) the MO's office gave me a list of what to do.  I was advised to take  Alleve and Claritin (took generic)  as directed, starting the first day of chemo and then for the next 4 days- to alleviate the pain from the Neulasta I would be given the day after each chemo treatment.  Followed this to the letter and never had pain. Call and ask your team but it worked for me!

The first time was the worst, for me. The rest of them (5 more) brought some achy bones but nothing like that first one. I did take the Claritin as above.

the first time was the worst for me as well. The second time I took 24 hour Claritin starting the day before chemo and then twice a day for a week after. My MO was fine with that dose and it was a vast improvement.

I was totally wiped out by the joint and body pain cased by Neulasta on my first infusion. I was in bed for about 3 days. Even though I took Claritin, my body experienced indescribable pain. I was surprised that during my second and third infusions, the joint and body pain was minimal.

I had terrible bone pain on neulasta and it really caught me off guard. I took Claritin as I was told but just about every bone in my body felt fractured. Even my jaw and sternum. It was over the weekend so calling the on call oncologist was not helpful since it wasn't my own doctor. I was treated like a drug seeker. I tried taking leftover norco from my port placement but it didn't help much at all. Monday my oncologist gave me Percocet for it and that made the pain tolerable. My 2nd shot had the same reaction. On my 3rd and 4th shot, I was started on decadron a few days before the shot and for some reason that helped. I've had appendicitis and I would chose that over the bone pain from neulasta any day of the week. That neulasta commercial still makes me cringe.

I have had 5 treatments of Taxol, and began to suffer from nerve damage in the feet. Two months after, and I am having pain in thighs, knees, back, feet worse, and sleepless from night-time pain. Very hard to take.

I have had a series of Procrit injections in the past due to low RBC counts...not fun, nor was the infusion of iron due to being anemic 7 yrs ago. Iron infusions are much easier now. The low RBC count and low Hemocrit levels were brought on by a Phyllodes tumor...not the normal course of events, but it is what it is, as they say....never had low levels prior.

Currently, I have low WBC counts along with low NK cell counts.....as I am needing another surgery ASAP, I will receive my first neurlasta patch tomorrow......looks like a fun weekend ahead, huh?

I took Claritan for 5 days with each neulasta dose. I was always sore from head to toe the next day, but could manage with only ibuprofen. I didn't work this day because it hurt to get up and down and move in general. I was glad it only lasted a day!
