Cystically dilated duct

Wondering if anyone can help me understand what this is.

A few weeks ago I found a lump in my right breast and the breast was a bit sore which is why I checked it. Had a ultrasound. The ultrasound only found a 8mmx8mm lump which didn't look cancerous but I had a biopsy to be sure. Results have come back as benign breast tissue and that I have a cystically dliated duct. I've only got this info from a nurse over the phone as my doctor is away and she didn't know what it meant only that it was good news and the Doctor doesn't need to see me unless I have questions. My only concern is I still feel a large mass in my right breast (bigger that the lump they saw on ultrasound) and it is tender. Do I just ignore this as it's been checked? I'm unsure why the dilated duct wouldn't have been mentioned after my ultrasound but they found it in a biopsy? and really I have no idea what a cystically dilated duct even means? Can anyone shed some light on what it is and can it cause pain and large lumps etc.

I don't know what "cystically" dilated means either, however, I do know that a biopsy can traumatize breast tissue - maybe that is contributing to the lump/tenderness you are feeling now. If you still have concerns, ask to see your doctor and/or take your records/ultrasound films and get a second opinion.
