Core needle bx on Tuesday. Awaiting results

there are so many amazing strong ladies on this group. Hoping your strength will help me today. My mammo showed a 9mm asymmetric span of clustered microcalcifications in my left breast in my pectoral muscle. They were able to get out over 20 calcifications. Radiologist said they were not smooth liked she had hopped for. Done reading the Internet. Just looking for support. Thank you.

    I got my results yesterday and it is NOT what we had hopped for. I am still in shock. DCIS. They have set me up with appts next week with breast surgeon consult but can't get into oncologists yet. I am scare but not for myself but my 20 year old daughter. She is in college and does not need the extra stress of worrying about her mom. She is coming home this weekend and my husband and I are trying to figure out to tell her.

    I happened to be visiting two of my kids several weeks after dx and told them then. Waited until they were distracted by other things, mentioned it in passing, told them I was fine, and we all moved on. I think it's only a big deal for your kids if you make it one.

    Hi there, waiting for the biopsy results was a scary time for all of us. just remember to breathe, not all breast abnormalities are cancer. Gentle hugs
