Getting Back to Work -Drainng!

Hi there. I was off work for a good two years dealing with my recovery. I had a lot of complications, many surgeries and procedures, and was left feeling very run down with little strength and energy.

I just started a new, full-time job 6 weeks ago. It's a great opportunity but very go go go. Very! All I know is I feel like garbage most nights and some data all day.

Did any of you feel this way? Did it get easier?

Thank you. Big virtual hugs to you all.

-Amy

    Hi!

I don't blame you for feeling worn out after a day of full-time work. Surgeries and the like (even if they are relatively minor) take a toll on your body. I remember when I had minor gallbladder surgery that I was very tired for weeks afterwards. Re: breast cancer, I worked through chemo, surgery, and rads, but treatment sucked the energy out of me the whole time. To make it through that year, I worked at home as much as possible. I set myself small goals and focused on them. I went to bed when my youngest kids went to bed (8:00 pm). I did the best I could but I didn't beat myself up if I wasn't as productive as I used to be. Take it easy! It sounds like you've been through a lot. ((Hugs))

i think it's natural to go thru this and feel like this.

how's your everyday schedule like? do you exercise?

personally, i find exercise very helpful and i do it in the morning, which sets the tone for the rest of the day.

i learned that, no matter how stressful/busy during the day, i tell myself that after 7 or 8pm. it's time to go home. my job is important to me, or my career is important to me but no matter what, my health comes first.
