Hi everyone,
One of my friends has recently had surgery. We were discussion what sort of cream people are using or have found to be effective. Any advice or product reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Claire

Hi Claire -- bumping this post so others can weigh in.
Does anyone have any recommendations on a scar cream?
Thanks!

I'm also curious about when we can start applying it?

I use Biocorneum - it is a silicone scar gel with sunscreen. Here is a link. I wouldn't apply it until you are completely healed and have the OK from your plastic surgeon or breast surgeon.

On the advice of my Gynecologist, I am using Recedo Gel. It contains no hormones. I got started with several sample packages after my first follow-up after my TAH-BSO surgery. I started using it as soon as the scabbing on my incision had gone. At my next follow-up, I got a prescription for a 20-gram container and three refills thereof.

I use magnesium and almond oil - I mix it myself in my hand after a shower about 1/2 and half. FYI magnesium oil can feel like prickly heat the first few times you use it - I am a year out from BMX and my scars are very, very light and extremely flat. I was not allowed to apply anything until 6 weeks after my exchange so be sure to check with your BS or PS.

Rosehip seed oil. Any brand, but here is a good one with reasonable price

Thanks for the reply and suggestions everyone. I will look into Biocorneum! I did a bit of research myself and I found Kelo cote scar gel. There are a fair few on the market but found this specific cancer website which was helpful. I'm not sure I'm linking this correctly but here it is if you are interested: https://livebetterwith.com/products/kelo-cote-scar... Thanks for the help Claire

Seconded. Live Better With has a great selection of products, guides and gift sets recommended by other people with cancer, and people in the medical profession. They've got some great "care packages" for people going through chemo, radio etc.
