Another 5 year anniversary!
I am on vacation but just realized that I have recently hit my 5 year mark. Living, loving and and enjoying life. Yes, aches and stiffness from Femara, perhaps not quite as much stamina but cancer can go suck and egg! Good thoughts for all

Congratulations. Not just on reaching the 5-year mark, but ALSO being on vacation and ALSO not having it be the most important thing on your mind.

Way to go. We ARE giving hope to the newly diagnosed. That's a powerful thing. I hope you have many more relatively pain-free years. (I just started Femara and I think I feel your pain!)

Yay, another Five-Year Club celebration!
Have a fancy cocktail tonight, Caryn. Or a glass (or two) of good wine. Happy vacation!

Caryn, That is beyond awesome. So happy for you. It is not only inspirational for newbies, it's inspirational to any of us that hasn't gotten there. I will definitely do a toast for you tonight with a glass of wine. Hope vacation is awesome and most relaxing. I hope we are all here to celebrate your 10th anniversary.

Go suck an egg, Cancer!

Thank you all for your good wishes and acknowledgement. I understand how fortunate I am and hope this serves as inspiration to others, particularly the newly dx'ed.
Have returned home from my bittersweet vacation. My older dd and granddaughter joined me in the NY/NJ area for a week. We stayed with my father, spent a special day at American Girl Place in NYC. We spent time with my brother and his family, swam, shopped and ate too much! My father adored Frankie and they got along famously. I stayed on after they left and spent most of my time dealing with my father's declining health, particularly his mental/emotional decline (he is 88). It was very hard to witness and I hated having to treat him like a child at times, but that's the reality. My brother and I are at a crossroads about his ongoing care, although we are unified in our decision making processes. On a happier note, I received this photo after Frankie returned to CA. The small, stuffed pug is Cookie. The doll is an American Girl Bitty Baby, named Ellie and then there is Miles. He was propped up on the sofa and looks completely puzzled by the whole thing!

Congrats! Love to hear positive news around here.

Oh Gawd...could they be any sweeter!!!!! Congrats on everything, Caryn. I'm sorry your heart is heavy seeing your dad in the late stages of aging. My parents, and my in-laws, all passed young...3 cancer, 1 heart. I am relieved they all went fairly quickly...but how I would've cherished them on earth to witness all the joy that's come to be. My dad would be your dad's age & he love, loved wee ones! Celebrating your joy...along with love for all! Cheers :-)
