Let's Post our Daily Exercise

This morning I did the stretching the doctor suggested, went to Pound (which is 1/3 on the floor, 1/3 bends/squats etc., 1/3 moving around)......didn't do the moving around part (did the moves in place) & then stayed for yoga. I had a lot of errands this afternoon but wore the sandal with the wedge heel, which made an AMAZING difference.....sitting with the heel up and iced at the moment. Our carpenter came for a consult this afternoon & I think tomorrow we are going to pull the trigger & order the kitchen cabinets, countertops etc. Exciting!
-
Ruth how exciting on the kitchen I love that type of thing! Please let us know your choices. Glad you got to go to your class.
I did Zumba for the first time today and LOVED it! Will definitely do that again.
Hope everyone is staying cool really hot and muggy here
-
No worries about being cool here. I went for a walk in drizzle that turned into moderate rain. Drying out everything and in a cashmere turtleneck to warm back up!
Waiting for my trout to finish cooking. Having with green beans, a salad that uses up roasted beets and cauliflower, and also a bit of spinach and potatoes.
My ride will wait until tomorrow. When I do the BIG RIDE in one week, it will be whatever the weather turns out to be. But being a bit choosy right at the moment.
Ruth.....new kitchen sounds beyond exciting. Make sure you get the stove that really works for you. I still miss my convection oven. I have learned to do with less fancy though. BTW - you can swim just fine in the waves if no sharks about. - Claire
-
I will try to avoid the sharks!
PlanB, I love Zumba more than any exercise I have ever done. It is so fun.
The kitchen: a pearl white (a kind of creamy, like a pearl color) maple for the cabinets which will go to the ceiling with a crown molding, counters have a brown/dark gray swirl with some turquoise swirls too. I think I will paint the little bit of the wall behind the cabinets that same turquoise, slate appliances, the flooring has the pearl white with tan and gray swirls and the other walls will probably be 'annapolis gray' which is a tannish-gray color. I have a split level house, so I'm going to put the same flooring in the entry & paint those walls the same as the kitchen.
-
Glad you got a diagnosis Ruth now you must heed the doctors advice. Mary I don't envy you this hot sticky days I admire you for getting out there. LB its launch week here next week, I've already done most of the releases as I went to a Super Q and also the guy I go to on Tuesdays and every other Thursday is a Master trainer so he does it early getting ready for presenting.
Tonight went to Body Combat and Body Pump, now need to pack for my weekend away. -
Spent an hour on an exercise bike.
-
Got in a quick training ride tonight after work. Glorious sunshine and managed to dodge the 5k runners/walkers that was also going on. 2 more training rides before the BIG RIDE!!!
My body is showing results from the training. Shoulders are now really sculpted; waist is a lot trimmer; back to killer legs. Scale is finally moving downwards. Yippie!!!
I bought a Dungeness crab for dinner. I thought it was cooked, but the instructions say to reheat, so I will do that. Will have with a salad and white wine. Simple and delish.
Still have weights to do before dinner. - Claire
-
Wow! I think I just read a novel catching up on this thread. Both Patoo and I have had summer visitors the past couple of weeks. BUSY! I also went away for 4th of July weekend leaving her with kitty duty and subbing for my class. Trips and house guests do not add up to much "real" muscle exercise, although you do burn calories trying to entertain everyone. I hope to get back into my exercise routines next week.
-
Ruth the kitchen sounds wonderful!!! It will be fun hearing about your adventure. Take before and after pics to show us please! Zumba may be my new favorite
Claire How far is your big ride? I know you have done incredible training for it. Good luck and have fun with it.
Did yoga today. My body is in that hurt so good mode from getting back to some classes this week. Needed a good stretch workout today.
-
Big Ride is 200+ miles over 2 days (Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic). Some do it in one day, but I am not that good. Dinner of Dungeness crab and salad was that good. In a major swoon right now. I think that we aim too low with meals.....swooning should be the goal!!!!!
Off to bed in a few after I take out the crab remains. Life is wonderful. - Claire
-
You should be a chef, Claire!
Another hour on an exercise bike.
-
That's funny, Ruth. Yes I look forward to seeing your kitchen remodel. It's on my list too but the list is long.
I've been sick a couple of days so I felt I had some making up to do as far as exercise. Pleasant day today so I dug and planted and weeded for a hour and a half. Then hubby and I went for an hour and 35 minute trail hike.
-
159+K steps for the week. I think that is a record. Tomorrow I start the volunteer program. I need to leave by 7am to get the meeting place on time. It's 1:00 am so turning in for the night getting up at 6:00 to shower , eat and leave. All packed up.
-
Behind on the posts and my exercise again. It's so dang hot, even with the air fixed in the gym. I'm back feeding the Fitbits though.
On a totally non-exercise note. . .any other ladies looking forward to 90 minute Outlander finale tonight? Dd has been watching the series with me even though she has not read the books and I have. Dd is working tonight so I'm watching solo.

hi all, good to read up on everyone's adventures. Got a break from the heat & humidity so having beautiful weather this weekend. Did a bunch of yard work yesterday and also walked in the morning. Got out early this morning as well. Now have chores to do before heading out for the day. Taking mom to a Drum & Bugle Corps event "Drums on Parade" featuring the Madison Scouts.
-
4.5 mile run this morning in the park. Lots of people walking dogs - big ones, little ones, and everything in between. My favorite of the day was an elegant white standard poodle. Of course my first thought was of the white poodle in the trailer for "Secret Life of Pets ". Looks like a cute movie.
-
Back at it again. Yesterday, I did week 1 day 1 of couch to 5k running program followed by a 1/4 mile swim as I try to get ready for my sprint triathalon in August. This is the one I trained for last summer and then I broke my toe the day before and only got to do the swim portion.
Hoping to get on my bike today. We are in the process of replacing rotten windowsills and I have a gaping hole in my kitchen where 2 windows are supposed to be. We discovered rotting outside sheathing and the project got a bit more involved. Good thing DH is a good woodworker.
-
Mowed for 30 minutes, walked with DS 35 minutes. Then I went for a 45 minute bike ride. The only problem with two days of extra exercise is I'm starving!
-
1/2 hour pilates, another of arms/abs, and cleaned the house.
-
Got out of bed super early to be at a brain cancer walk manning our table. I was going to do a ride then, but when I nearly did a face plant walking over to the bagel place afterwards, I went home and took a nap. I didn't do the 5k, but I have done more than 3 miles of walking today.
Later, I went out and did 20 miles, much of it on gravel. Just an easy ride as need to come into the week fresh as lots going on. I do know all about starving as the slide of pizza I had less than an hour ago has totally worn off!!!
Chilly here so glad I have stew from last week left for dinner!!! Yum. - Claire
-
Did 21 day fix dirty thirty yesterday and 35 minute walk with DD today. A little gardening and housecleaning as well.
Have a great start to your week everyone
-
Core workout this morning.
-
Took an hour-long walk on this gorgeous morning in D.C. suburbs. Heading into month four on anastrozole, and really starting to feel the arthralgia. Loosening up with a walk is great.
Last night for dinner, made whole-wheat penne with ruby chard, pine nuts, and a little goat cheese. Yum! Am also doing daily smoothies from Daniela Chace's book, "Healing Smoothies." I love summer! Hope everyone has good day. NatsFan, I'm looking forward to the home-run derby tonight and All Star game tomorrow.
-
Yum, that dinner sounds great!
Well, I have been busy. The kitchen cabinets, counters, appliances and flooring are all ordered......the wheels are in motion.
Tomorrow at 6:30 am, I jump on an airplane & fly out to NC for a week. My sister, SIL, and two adult nieces & I will spend three days at the ocean & then another couple at my sister's. Wonderland & I are having lunch next Monday before I fly home. Whoo Hoo! Since I am a horrible packer & put it off until the last minute, that is what I am doing right now.
I just got a text that my yoga class is cancelled. Darn. Maybe I will do a yoga DVD. I'd LOVE to go to Zumba but am going to resist the urge to rest my heel!
Next picture will be from the BEACH!
*edited to say that I did an hour yoga DVD.
-
That dinner does sound great! Ruth have a great time nothing like going to the beach!
I did 2 classes back to back today. Pilates and cardio step. Struggled with 90 minutes but felt good to be back! Had to take a nap this afternoon! Lo
-
2.5 mile run along the golf course. Five deer, including the twin fawns, but they weren't gamboling today. They were still curled up with mom lying under a tree. Guess they were sleeping in - wish I could do do that!
-
30 minute walk with my dog after it cooled off a bit. Much nicer to walk at 8 than directly after work!
-
Hi All! Been off for over a week because we were at the beach. Lots of walking, swimming, eating, reading books, and sunning. We were lucky and had perfect weather.
Looking forward to seeing Ruth next week for lunch. Hope you have good weather at the beach, Ruth!
I mowed today for 90 minutes. I took lots of breaks because it's so freaking hot and humid. Plus I was stung 7 times by yellow jackets! The stings Hurt Hurt Hurt
-
Oh no Wonderland. I had a bunch of yellow jackets in an empty bird feeder over the weekend and I narrowly escaped. They are so mean.
-
Ouch on the yellow jackets!!! I have been there. I also give the lavender a wide berth these days.
Busy day with a short walk when I got home. - Claire
